Alright, I have a feeling this will be one of my cooler projects I've worked on yet.

I'm not going to give you guys many details yet. I'll post some teaser screens over the next week, so stay tuned. Next Saturday I'll give you a "press release" of what the new coaster is when most of the layout is complete.

Here are a few teasers

What's with the quality of the screenshots?

Some were cropped, to hide things yet reveiled :wink2:

So they vary greatly.

Well this is it, the press release.

Taurus is part of a new breed of coasters. Coasters like Maverick at Cedar Point and Fahrenheit at Hershey Park. Both of these rides are aimed at a new fast paced, out of control, and high intensity roller coaster experience. With Taurus, Intamin has done it again. This ride is a nonstop thriller. Dueling with other trains along the course of the layout, riders have so many things thrown at them now that things feel even more out of control than on previous models. Head choppers, direction changes, and gobs of air are incorporated into the over 3,000 foot run. Taurus will feature restraints similar to Maverick and Fahrenheit, but unlike these rides it will have one more car on each train to increase momentum through maneuvers and increase rider capacity. Speaking of rider capacity, Taurus cranks out riders likea well oiled machine. At optimal efficency it can pump out 1,600 riders per hour. This is thanks to well timed blocks and 4 16 passenger trains.

Taurus starts out with a 115 foot vertical chain lift, propelling riders at 5 mph straight in the air. The drop is a stunning 110 degrees, propelling riders 1 g out of their seats at one point. A gentle top hat element follows the initial drop, getting the riders prepped for what's comming next. Similar to Maverick, a Horshoe Roll comes next, feauturing two heartline rolls. Pulling up, the train swings over and upside dwon into a steep stengal dive. After a heart-pounding turn, riders get a blast of airtime before traveling under the station and queue. Is it over? No, Linear Induction Motors (LIM's) propell the train forward to 55 mph, launching into the sunlight once again. Like Fahrenheit at Hershey park, the trains maneuver through a massive 90 foot Norweigan loop, giving the riders two inversions packed with hangtime and crushing g forces. After diving into another burst of intense airtime, ridersare caught off gaurd by a second suprise stengal dive, blasting up and around the previous one and then diving low to the ground. A high speed turn loops up and into the brake run, the passengers then see the other train ahead of them dive under the brake run and station just yards away.

For more information of questions, feel free to ask.

Very nice coaster! I'm always impressed with your rides! You did an awesome job. The only thing I think doesn't look really good is that the colors look kind of weird with the white background, but it's still an amazing ride. I absolutely love it! I can't wait till the POV!

Whoops, I missed that. :stick_tongue:

It is a pretty awesome ride, I like the flow of elements and the brakes in between for different physical feels!! The colors I do have to agree don't really match the feel of the ride.. There where some parts where I thought I saw 1 or 2 bumps.. I look forward to more work on this ride, I like the logo a lot though great job on that!! The one thing that got me is the great support job on the lift, well done with that!! Your support work always is outstanding!!
Keeping working hard :001_cool:

Michael
06-15-2008, 10:54 PM
The "bumps" are from lagging when I recorded the POV with fraps; Vista is garbage. The ride is much smoother when ridden in NL.

Thankyou guys for the comments

Alright, basically I have this done besides flanging and finishing the supportwork. I need at least two people to test this and give their opinion about the ride quality, smoothness, heartlining, pacing, ect. If you want the download, just let me know by posting here, on my profile page, or you can pm me. Thanks

I finished supportwork on the lift, it looks pretty sick. :cool1:

Sorry for the double post... Well I rode the ride and it is truly smooth, I like the new color scheme a lot better!! The G's and forces seemed perfect through each element, and I like the one fly by that I noticed real well!! The launch underneath the station didn't really seem like a launch I couldn't really tell a difference in speed.. Over all it was a fast pass ride, and had some very good air time momments in there. Once again your support work has blown me away :scared: Great job once again on another project!!

Hmmmmmmmmm. Well, I'd go for something more original, but I STILL HATE THE BROWN hahaha. I don't know why. A darker, 'ruby'-ish red would look excellent IMO, the red looks a bit faded. I'll be releasing a ride soon with ruby and burnt-turquoise supports, now DON'T COPY ME.....

I believe that was one of the weirdest posts I have ever made and I apologize in advance.

Only pink goes with that brown IMO.

Michael
06-19-2008, 02:04 PM

My computer crashed a little over a year ago and I lost this coaster along with my entire collection of coasters. I know I let several people test this, but is there anyone here who might have a version of this on their computer? Even if it's a version without supports, I dearly miss this design as it was one of my best works. I would greatly appreciate it if someone still has it.

I owe you man. I owe you big time. Thank you so much, this seriously made my day! I never thought I would say this, but expect some updates on Taurus soon!

Michael
10-10-2010, 04:42 PM
After more than two years, I've finally begun work on Taurus again! Thanks to ArrowOwnzU for digging this file back up for me, I cannot thank you enough!

I decided the color scheme was getting a little old, and the brown just wasn't working; I think the new one is much sleeker. I've also smoothened and reworked much of the track and I've completely restarted the support work. I don't want to give too much away, but I'm considering making this coaster a bit longer... as of now there are two sections of the ride that dual for a short distance. I realized adding a third section would help balance out other parts of the ride; I'll reveal more of that later.

For now, I've got a few teaser screens to show off some of the new supportwork:

I am in love with this support work!

Michael
10-10-2010, 07:16 PM
^ Haha, thanks! It's definitely the most fun thing to build.

I've started work on the new, third dueling section and I think this puts the icing on the cake. Currently first drop is around 50-55 mph, the first launch under the station now clocks out at about 55-60 mph, and the new third (I will reveal what the element is soon) hits about 65 mph sending the train into an epic finale. I'm really, really pumped about this project. Expect some updates this week!

Looks like a fun little ride. Needless to say, I have "lost my touch" with No Limits after my "time away" from my computer, so I just enjoy seeing other user's creations. Like the looks of this one!

Michael
10-15-2010, 11:17 PM
I've added the third dueling section on Taurus and I can't begin to describe how well it works! This is by far my favorite project I've ever done and I cannot wait to finnish this and reveal the final design. Overall I've added just under 2,000 feet of track to the layout; some of it in the new third stint, some of it in other areas. Currently I'm 95% done with track work and about 15% done with support work. I don't want to give away too much, but to say the least Taurus features some very unique elements and the best dueling I've seen on a No Limits coaster yet. Here are a couple teasers for you, more on the way very soon!

Teaser shots:

The support work might look a little confusing from these angles, but once you see the entire layout it will make a little more sense.

Michael
11-05-2010, 08:30 PM
It's an in-editor view, so the angle makes that element look funky. Without giving away too much of the layout, it's a Sea Serpent type of element. Also I've entirely re-profiled the Norwegian Loop; it's much better than before.

I've got a few more teasers for you before I release anything substantial. I'm about 50-60% complete with Taurus, but I want to get to at least 75% before I release anything revealing; I don't like showing off highly unfinished areas of rides.

Expect a large reveal very soon. This weekend I will release the last set of teasers and a teaser video all in preparation for the first reveal. For now, enjoy a couple screens:
