I will be visting Thorpe Park during both Fright Nights and Thorpe Blast events. So far, the reviews ive read from fellow thorpe enthusiasts (lol!), this years fright nights sounds much better than the other years, with much more park wide theming, and apparentely Hellgate and The Asylum (mazes), have both been improved. So all sounds good!

Instead of just visiting when I fell like which is what I normally do (;)), ive actually planned when im visting: Fright Nights- 14th, 19th, 21st, 25th, 27th. Yes 5 visists, 5. Thorpe Blast - 2nd, 4th (ast day of season). Obviously if I find on the first visit that its kinda crap then I obviously wont go on all those days.

Ill post a PTR of them when they happen.

Sunday 14th October -

Well, this are going to be mini tr's, and ill post the big one later when they are all done with the pictures, but ill post mini ones as they happen.

Well after arriving, the entrance was very themed and looked brilliant. I went straight to Vortex and then Rush followed by Loggers Leap. We were allowed a re-ride on Loggers as it hadnt built up a queue yet. We rode pretty much everything, except for the 2 closed ride obviously, Quantum and Slammer. Rush was fantastic today, very forceful, and had great new announcements for FN. Nemesis Inferno had a breakdown at 2.30 until about 5, when it reopened. Apart from that, reliability was good, with just a few breakdowns. Night riding was excellent, every ride was top notch in the dark. I *****d Rush all day really, and for a sunday in fn it wasnt that busy at all, with maximum queues of about 25 mins for Colossus, and Stealth being around only 10/15 mins all day. Most of the flats were 5 -20, and Loggers and Rumba were both about 20. Queues were about the same all day til closing, which was 10pm.

All 3 mazes were great, especially The Asylum and Hellgate

Ride Count -

Rush x9
Stealth x7
X, Detontator x3
Samurai, Vortex, Nemesis Inferno, Colossus, Loggers, Canada Creek Railway, Rumba Rapids x2
Depth Charge, Teacups, Tidal Wave, Zodiac x1

Asylum, Hellgate, Se7en x1

Great Day, and im actually in the middle of another visit right now, I just came out and went to friends house in Staines, will be going back down in a sec. Pretty Empty today so far as well! :)

Thorpe Park - Friday 19th October

Was fairly busy today, Colossus peaked at 45 minutes, and Stealth 60 in the afternoon. Most others were about 30 (for things like Nemesis, Rush, Vortex and Samurai). Most others were all 10 or 15. They stayed like that through the night. Lots of people from school came after 3, so it got slightly busier for the mazes, with opened at 4. Im not at school sue to 2 week half term! ()

Maze queues were big as I just said. Asylum 2 hours, Hellagte 90 mins, Se7en 80 mins. Heading to X:\No Way Out, they needed 2 people to go in to make it 8 on Hallgate, which is what you need to go on busy days, so me and my friend got in and avoided a nice big 90 min queue.

Got on Stealth and Nemesis with Priority passes which was great, as queues were at their peak times there. Makes up for losing SRQ last year.

Rumba ops were great, when the queue was invisible towards the end of the day, offering re-rides. Didnt bother with much other day rides, but got some cool night rides.

Ride Count -

Stealth -2
Nemesis Inf. -1
Loggers -1
X:\ -6
Samurai -1
Zodiac -1
Detonator -3
Rumba -4
Rush -1
Flying Fish -1

Hellgate -1

Thanks for the TRs!

So is this the only halloween event you have been to? If not how does it compare to other events you've attended?

(Ive postponned todays trip to tomorrow btw)

Well on Tuesday I was at Chessington down the road from thorpe at their Halloween Hocus Pocus event. There arent mazes, but they have generally more park wide theming then thorpe. Dont get me wrong though, last year Fright Nights at thorpe lacked Theming apart from different music and the mazes, but this year, Thorpe have gone to much more effort with theming (eg body bags under stealth launch track). Every ride has bits of theming on it, especially in the Colossus station and around Nemesis Inferno. Overall I think Fright Nights at Thorpe are a little better than Chessingtons, and I might be swapping Saturdays trip for a trip down to Alton Towers to see their Scarefest event. Last year Altons Scarefest was much better than Thorpes FN, but with thorpe cranking their event up this year, things may be different come saturday. Looking forward to it!

Ill post pics from Thorpe maybe tomorrow night or Saturday Night! (Maybe with some Alton ones too!)

Sunday 21st October -

Was at Chessington in the morning to check there Hocus Pocus event, but ill talk about that later.

So I arrived at thorpe at 3, and went staright to Asylum, to wait until it opened at 4. So after an hour we went in, and it was Fantastic, especially as there was the Chainsaw Guy at the end and he wasnt there last week, so that was great! Had a Priority Pass (You enter at the exit, thus skipping the queue), and could use it on Samurai, and skipping an 80 minute queue. Ive loved X:\ recenetely, not surew why, its just always seemed to deliver fun rides. Thorpe need to sort out their speakers which play music and wwtp, as it keeps on cutting out every 30 seconds or so, which sounds stupid.

Ride Count for Thorpe only -

Samurai -1 (Prority Pass)
Nemesis Inferno -1 (Priority Pass)
Stealth -1 (30 minute queue via single rider queue)
Slammer -1 (45 minute queue)
X:\ -3 (30 min queue for first time, other two times I used fastrack)
Rumba Rapids -1 (25 minute queue)

Asylum -1 (70 minute queue)

Sounds like you had a good time, I managed to get to Thorpe Park twice during Fright Nights, an improvement on last year with the likes of theming on rides, nothing great but at least it was something.

Personally Hellgate was my favourite maze this year, made me jump a lot more and it was just an all out assault on you by the actors, while Se7en was just average, good acting but more about showing the extremes of the seven deadly sins rather than trying to scare you. The Asylum was slightly better this year with a few new additions such as the lovely chainsaw guy in the last corridor, certainly the highlight of the event.

I went on the first night of Fright Nights and the park was dead, cannot remember my ride count but I managed to get on Se7en three times and The Asylum and Hellgate four times, certainly a good day, the second visit was a lot busier and I cannot remember much of it.

No photos though, my camera has decided to go missing...:(
