I would have voted for myself, but--

Just kidding. I went for Brandon, nice park man.

Michael

Eclipse had it nailed. He had some terrific coasters, but they all work so well together. Excellent park man. :cool1:

Brandon was in a close second, excellent picks. But yours was one of the only ones without a B&M Floorless, Sit Down looper, or Stand-up. But excellent choices I must say.

Apsterling was 3rd in my opinion. He has a terrific collection of coasters, all pack a huge punch. The only thing was that so many of them were high intensity, but you still had a great collection of rides man.

I voted for Jake. Your park was spot on brilliant. I couldnt see any flaws in your picks. May you, as well as everyone else have the best of luck in the voting!

And thank you for the compliment, Jake.

Eclipse is going to take this one.

I voted for Eclipse, almost all of his coasters were well themed and it was a nice collection of rides.

2nd was Brandon. Once again, almost all of your rides are well themed. I really thought that all you needed was that one big, super popular coaster that you just didn't have.

Exceller. He has the best wooden coaster on the planet (El Toro), most insane coaster on the planet (X2), best stand-up (Riddler), and a coaster loaded with air time (Goliath) .. and several other good ones.

In future drafts, you guys might want to consider to only allow people to draft one clone. It's kind of pointless if a bunch of people have Tony Hawk coasters.

Jake

^ Yeah.. I was thinking the same thing.

No not really, there are so many differences between their picks that it doesn't hurt to have a few people with the same ride. It's a good one to have too.

I voted for R.C. because he put in good quality of rides. Not the same manufacturer either. Well good luck for the rest of the voting.

^Thanks! That's what I was going for. I was trying to get some popular rides that offered great experiences and to offer something for everyone.

I'm not sure who I'm voting for yet. I'm having a hard time deciding...

See, this is why these drafts aren't always good. See, I see people who have VERY well rounded parks (including me in my opinion) with actually a good lineup of coasters, whereas (not pointing any fingers here) some people who have a lot of votes, are the ones with all the most highly rated and appraised coasters, INSTEAD of "the most well-rounded park". For instance, I think RC has a very well rounded park, hence I voted for him, but I dunno I just feel like nobody gets the point of this other then to vote for the person who has the best & baddest coasters out there.

It's just hard for us as enthusiasts to vote for someone with a kid's coaster when someone else has an awesome ride. Oh well, I voted for a well rounded park. :)The voting is really close.

It shouldn't be hard to pick a well rounded park over one with "awesome rides." If it is hard, then shouldn't be considering yourself an enthusiast. :wink2:

Sorry Disney is out of my family's budget

I know parks and coasters like anyone else.

Erm...I wouldn't call Disneyland "Well Rounded"

"Highly Themed" is a better term. The atmosphere is what makes the park.

But because these parks that we make in these drafts aren't real. You can't vote on the atmosphere of the park, which IS why a real enthusiast should go, not the balance of the coasters.

Michael

You can't vote on the atmosphere of the park, which IS why a real enthusiast should go, not the balance of the coasters.

And we can't go to an amusement park based on the balance of the coasters coasters?

Kind of defeats the purpose of being a roller coaster enthusiast...

Jake
06-23-2008, 04:16 PM
So wait, if you're a roller coaster enthusiast wouldn't you just want to go to the park with the best coasters?

So in reality a roller coaster enthusiast would vote for the park that has the best coasters. ;)

I do, because I enjoy the coasters. But I would also enjoy going to a more balanced park.

Why do you guys care why everyone else goes to parks?

-disneylhandI personally find it intriguing to hear why other people hold the same interest as me. Though roller coaster and amusement park enthusiasts have such close interests, the reasons why are often much different.

I voted for Jake. Everyone did exceptionally, though.

Besides, you're all saying it wrong. A rimshot is hitting the rim and head of the drum, not the ba-dum-pssh you're all looking for.

Rimshots are ugly sounds, I tell you (as a drummer)

I picked Eclipse. His list or rides sounds the most appealing to me. Very nice job with your roster...

I went with Eclipse here. His park seemed to have more coasters that went well with each other...kind of like a sampler, you know? Good luck anyways.

As for my vote, I went with thedeadfrog. Just looking through his list, I felt he had an excellant balance of ride for everyone. Congrats bro! and best of luck to everyone else

Thank you, it means a lot coming from who I voted for.

It was a great draft everyone, I look foreward to the next.

Hopefully I wont go on a DCI trip at the end of the next one so I can execute the idea I had for this one [Making a overhead map, but I wont get into it]

Congrats to the winner! I'm going off to rehersal, than a show, so I wont be home until saturday -.-, so I thought I'd get that out of the way now.

Jake
06-27-2008, 12:57 PM
Great job, Brandon.

I agree, it's time for another World Draft :). And I'd like to suggest that if a pick is missed, it can not be made up. Otherwise there is no consequence to missing a pick.

I concur with everyone, a World Draft would be great. I really missed the international flavor in this draft.

International Draft would be good...I'd like it, I'm much better with worldwide coasters.

Since I was forced to drop out do to limited internet connection (computer=dinosaur) this time around, and I'm only on for one part of the day at the most, I suggest that we have the person who's up next pick beginning at the top or bottom of the clock, whichever's closer, and count 24 hours from there.

Example: (throwing out names from this draft) Brandon's (congrats btw buddy) pick starts at midnight. He picks at 4pm that day. The next person, let's say thedeadfrog (drummers gotta be up there man), can pick at 6pm the same day, and have until 6pm the next day. He picks at 10am the next day, so the next person can pick at noon that day and have til noon the next day, and so on and so forth.

See where I'm coming from here?

Michael
06-28-2008, 11:44 PM
Not necessarily, but it's nice to be able to pick right after somebody with the current system.

Let's say Jimmy picks Griffon at 6:30 PM. And Bob is really eager to pick Kingda Ka right afterwards. He wouldn't be able to pick until midnight. See my point?

BTW, great job Brandon

Okay, then let me edit said plan: top or bottom of the hour. Next pick is at x:00 or x:30, whichever's closer.

That help?

Okay, then let me edit said plan: top or bottom of the hour. Next pick is at x:00 or x:30, whichever's closer.

That help? That just adds like a half hour. As long as you know when your area of the lineup is picking, it's mighty hard to miss your pick. If you've got computer problems, how is a half hour going to help solve that anyway? It will just add another complex rule to make things more confusing.
