Any themes that you would like to see used in a theme park? If so post your Ideas here.

My Idea, although a little controversial, I would like to see a Cold War theme park.

This is how I would want it done.

You have one Huge park with two distinctive sides. One being the USSR and the other being the USA. On each side there would be lands themed to the the achievements and cultural aspects of both country's in the cold war period.

For instants both sides could have a space theme and rides based on the space race. Another theme could be to the cities and culture of the countries. Such as vistiong replicas of towns or cities. And for culture you could take place in celebrations and holidays of the country's.

Its just an Idea that I had in my head.

Um...where would it be put? Size? Popularity? What kind of rides...how many coasters/themed rides?

Throwing this out there-a music-themed park. Huge piece of land, each section reflects the type of genre (ROCK, HIP HOP, DANCE, COUNTRY, CLASSICAL, JAZZ, and POP) with at least 1 awesome coaster in every area!

(sorry if it's random-I'm delirious...just got my braces put on yesterday and my mouth hurts like hell...)

This is how I would see the park layout.

Instead of one park it would be two.

When entering the Russian park, you would walk into a scaled down Grand Kremlin Palace. Inside would be the turnstiles, exit and guest relations. Once you exit the Kremlin you are in Red Square. Looking down you would see the St. Basil's Cathedral. And to the Center left would be Lenin's Tomb (inside would be a museum of Russian history during the cold war). Once all the way down Red Square it would split into different lands (like Disney Land). One land could be theme to the Space race. This land could have an rocket coaster named Sputnik and a Mission Space type ride along with smaller spinning rides theme to space. Other land could be themed to major cities of the USSR. Rides could be a B&M looper named The Red Star, and flat rides named Hammer and Sickle ect.

Thats All I have for Russia.

For the USA you could enter a scaled down Capital Building were the Turnstiles and exit and guest relations would be. Once you exit the building you are looking at Scaled down Washington Monument, complete with the lake (like KI and the Efile Tower). The Lands could be Major US cities, and the space race.

Thats all I realy have.

If you would like to help, please post.

Its just an idea.

Hard Rock Park is somewhat like what you want, just with all the different genres of rock, which, in my opinion is the best type of music and has some of the most history. I can't see myself getting excited about a ride called Mozart or 2Pac or however you say it. Music is a huge thing and people would welcome it with open arms I am almost sure. Nashville would be perfect place for this.

I want to see an NFL based park.Best location would have to be Canton, Ohio and have the entrance be a scaled down model of Arrowhead Stadium where it feels as if you are walking on the field. The length would actually be the size of a football field and from there it splits off into 3 different tunnels, each named after some of the most known names in the NFL: Lamar Hunt, coined name Super Bowl one of main people to cause merger, Jerry Jones, and Vince Lombardi.

Another way it could work is 2 separate gates, NFC and AFC. The gates can be inside an oversized model of the Lombardi Trophy. In the AFC park, a flying coaster could be called Jet and go over a small scale model of NYC. Colts could be a carousel, Titans could be either a giga or strata coaster. Each team would have a specific ride named after it, not all coasters. It would be separated into 4 areas per park. East North South and West. There could be information buildings in each where people could go, watch a show and learn about how each team was established and some great players of each team.

There are many more ideas I have for this park, but it would take forever to finish writing.

^I think teams to ever be known as a dynasty (ie, Cowboys, Steelers, Patriots) should have their names on the bigger rides/coasters.

I think Cartoon Network should build their own park.

A Family Guy Theme Park :D kidding.

Going off of that NFL one, I want to see one for the NHL, too...Two areas, one western conference and one eastern conference. Each division is somewhere, and each team gets at least 2 rides, one game stand and one food stand. And a 10-foot Stanley Cup Replica as the center of the park. Best place? Across from the HHF or the USHHF. Or anywhere near it. I'll write more later.

^That ride definitely has to be in the NFL park just replace Micheal Vicks name with some one else's name and this would be an awesome ride.

As much as I love the sport of hockey, I have to say an NHL park would be a horrible idea. Maybe in Canada, but not in the states. Hockey is now one of the United States' least popular sports.

A Nintendo Theme Park, I know a few years ago they had a Pokémon traveling fair in Japan for a while so they could do it- I'd love to see a nice F-Zero Launch Coaster :D

Or a Mario/Luigi racer/etc.

Mario vs. Bowser 3D Adventure. Battle through the Mushroom Kingdom to save Princess Peach.

F-Zero Launch Coaster is an awesome idea.

Pokemon spinning coaster.

Go Kart track themed accordingly.

I'm likin' it...:p

I was reconsidering my NFL park idea and thought, areas by like position would probably be better to an extent. Like possibly have rides after HISTORIC players, not Shawn Merriman before anyone says it, but more like Marino, Favre, Elway, Bettis, Marcus Allen, The Fridge, Derrick Thomas, the list goes on. Or just have a ride called Hall of Fame where the line is a replica of Canton and as you walk through you look at all the monuments for players.

NFL would be only sport that would work in the US. Soccer would work perfectly in Europe, NHL maybe Canada, but not US, NBA, well I will not touch on that anymore since I think the league is dieing fast.

Back on it...

I still think one of the HoF's would be a good place for it...has history and today in the same spot. I was more partial to the USHHoF because it would kinda pay homage to the 1980 Olympic Gold-winning US team...at Lake Placid...(best place ever)

They should have a Fox5 animation theme park. One section would have The simpsons. Another would be Family Guy. They should have Futurama and American Dad...Oh, I almost forgot about King of the Hill. I'm sure this would be a freakin funny park.

How about an entire amusement park that is themed after a giant parking lot. :thumbup2:

But in all seriousness I want a park that is completely themed off of either ALL Amazon or ALL Horror.

^The only two I care about^

I really think Dubailand is going to do good with its super amusement park :scared::cool1:

A superhero theme park would be awesome, even though IOA has marvel Island, a whole park themed to superheroes would be Bad A!

I would like to see a different use of current themes. Movies, music, and sports make good themes of parks and attractions. Die Hard would make for a great enclosed drop tower; Star Wars would be the best interactive dark ride. Hard Rock Park seems like a good idea; I can't believe that theme hasn't been tried before. Football, baseball, basketball, hockey, and soccer are popular all over the world. Couldn't they be used has themes for coasters, dark rides, flat rides, and shows .

^Europa Park actually has a soccer themed attraction that is fairly popular, so that is a possibility for a theme for future attractions, however I think it would need elaborate theming and would only fit in certain geographic markets.

Personally I think a park themed around a ski resort would be pretty cool. (think Alpengeist).

I don't believe Halo has quite the following that something like Star Wars does. And Gary, I wasn't insinuating you "stole my idea" (God knows millions of Star Wars addicts have thought of that before me) I just was making a statement. Found it interesting was all :).

Michael

I don't believe Halo has quite the following that something like Star Wars does.

But the 20 million people who have bought Halo copies would have to disagree with you. :wink2: 8.1 million bought Halo 3 alone. There is definitely a following, enough to make an amusement park. And remember what company helped develop Halo, Microsoft. I'm sure they wouldn't have a problem funding such an endeavor...

Jake
06-05-2008, 01:24 PM
The first Star Wars was released in 1977 and still holds the record for number two in the box office, only behind Titanic. Hundreds of millions of people own Star Wars dvds, makes that 20 million figure a little less impressive ;). Also - that's covered over all the games, so I'm sure some of that number are duplicates. As in, people who have bought all three?

Yeah, I don't think Halo could become more then an attraction or themed land.

Michael
06-05-2008, 05:20 PM
Well it would still make a sweet ride. Say, a Maverick or Farenheit type coaster, except with banshee styled trains, some purple track and blue supports. Throw in a sweet queue and some Halo Music. I think that would be a very sucessful ride :cool1:

Windows: the Microsoft Experience. A multi-billion dollar theme park about the once richest man in the world. Featuring the tallest coaster in the world - Megabyte. With different areas such as Microsoft Office, Control Pannel Land, Command Prompt Boardwalk, and many more. And for the kids, come join mascotts Microsoft Sam and that annoying Paper Clip thing. Come celebrate the Windows Universe!

(Warning: Billy may spontainiously explode upon entering the park.)

One area I wish theme/amusement parks would focus on is entertainment for people waiting in line. Especially in amusement parks where you don't have the monster super-themed stations.

What they could do is build ride lines in a stadium-style formation, where at the bottom there is some form of entertainment. Maybe it's a really good juggler, a magician, a hypnotist, a group of break dancers etc. There are lots of people out there that have little acts people would be find entertaining.

Obviously there can't always be a showing going on, but I figure parks could find people who have free time on the weekends to come down and do their act to earn some extra cash. Also, this would only work for the rides with the huge lines.

Here is a picture of sort of what I am envisioning the line would look like:

I'm trying to figure out how that would correlate with the business aspect of the park though. Usually a show is considered an attraction, part of what makes people purchase tickets. If the show is just a subsidiary to the attraction, where's the common sense in that? If you can reduce man power by adding things like Automation (IE: TV's, Music, Visual Effects) thats less pay checks you have to accommodate for.

The type of shows I am referring to are different then the big attractions you are talking about. I would not expect the park to accommodate a big concert or anything.

Every year at the Western Washington Fairgrounds, the Fair officials do a great job setting up big shows at their main stages. At the same time, there are roving entertainers that are not necessarily a big attraction the park advertises, they are just little side shows that attract small crowds. I don't believe they are paid even. The only way they get their money is through donations on spot. Last year, after visiting USH, there were also a couple of performers putting on little shows and asking for donations.

There are a lot of people out there (especially in places like Los Angeles and Florida) that have performers looking for crowded places to earn a few extra bucks. I suppose a park could get away with not paying a dime, just coordinating it, however I think the parks would benefit a lot more giving them a small amount of money to make long line waiting a more tolerable experience.

Let's keep in mind here too, it would probably only work for the big attractions on weekends. Obviously you aren't going to need any entertainment if the line reaches the station already. When you look at some rides, however, the lines can get extremely long.

There would be terrain/space issues of trying to erect stadium-style queues around a center stage. Queues just kind of go where there's room.

supremescreamer
06-08-2008, 06:52 PM
Spacing issues would be a problem with extremely compact parks like a Knotts Berry Farm, but I believe if a park just plans a little they shouldn't have too much of a problem finding room.

One idea I would like to see is a drag racing themed park. Obviously Top Thrill Dragster has used this theme, and it seems to work well for a single ride. As a die hard drag racing fan though, I'd like to see a whole park use the theme, and put a lot more detail into it. Many drag strips in the US are built in the large, open areas, and a few rides could easily be added to some of them. I could really only see one person/company trying this right now: Bruton Smith of Speedway Motorsports. He has done a lot for motorsports recently and has even added a drag strip at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Something like this could be added there. Given his position in the racing world, if he did something like this, he'd probably use a general racing theme and use the different types of racing as sections.

This is just something I'd like to see, but I don't see it happening.

How about a tropical theme park located on an archipelago(a bunch of small islands). They could create an archipelago Like they did in Dubai with Palm Island and Project Earth. There would be a large ferry From the mainland that would take you to the park entrance. The main island would Have bridges that branch of in multilpe directions. On one Island I would have a B&M Flyer that would Swerve through the trees and have a water effect like Manta Will at Sea world. On one Island I would have A very Large Aquarium and a Dolphin show. I would also have an S&S power tower. Looking arould and only seeing water for miles would make you feel much higher than you really are. The beauty of a park like this is you could always expand by creating another island.
