Twenty-two months in the making...

Thunder Run: Arrow Dynamics-Salt Lake City, Utah

Yeah, nothing too special. I just want to let you guys know that this project is still very much alive, and I do plan to finish it assuming nothing prevents me from doing so. This is a screen shot straight out of the park's guest spot (no, I won't tell you who it is yet, although I'd wager some of you guys know already). I did make Thunder Run, but not much else in this particular area, so I tried my best not to show anything else except the actual coaster. Feel free to comment and criticize as always guys. Thanks for all of your support.

Glad to see your still continuing this project.

Stupendous hack on the log flume.
I just suggest adding something to the top of the lift becuase the water just starts from no where how it is now.

Amazing screen otherwise.

Thanks guys. I wish I could take credit for the log flume, but I can't haha. Oh, and it's twice as brilliant of a hack as it appears to be.

The screen is iffy. Arrow Dynamics was based out an hour from Salt Lake City. I know cause I have been their. lol.

The screen is really clashing even with the trees. It's not a screen I like. Also the hedges don't look right their.

Look very good as always! I love the water slide lift for the flume's lift as well as the bobsled coaster for the turns of the flume. :) I like the mountainous terrain as well. :)

Ahh! I knew there was something missing from the forums. Great to see this project again. Cannot wait for the release! I don't think I've ever heard of a park take nearly 2 years to make...That is without a doubt one of the best (if not the best) parks EVER made in RCT history. I believe it may be better than Premier Park as well.

Sweet I am glad you are still working on this I really enjoyed following this on the old forums.

No offense to the mystery parkmaker, but I personally don't care for the lift hack on the log flume. And the Flying turns track hack doesn't look like it was done to the best of it's ability.

I'm glad this is still going on and I'm looking forward to the release.

Keep it up,

Finally got around to playing some RCT2 again. Here are two screens I feel capture some of the nicer atmosphere in the back area of the park...

http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/1068/89502105hj0.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
This one shows "Best of the West," the park's largest sit-in restaurant. It's menu consists of mainly BBQ.

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/5489/69484359pt0.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Here's the park's main theater, the "Centennial Theatre," which features concerts, fireworks shows, etc.

That's all for now. Please feel free to comment and criticize as always.

No complaints!

I only noticed some empty space to the right of the theater, but I'm guessing there's obviously more stuff coming.

What's the progress level at?

Another awesome update. :) I really like the backrests in the theater. :) Maybe have more windows on the left side of the restaurant? Idk, it's sorta bland. Also, hopefully I'm mistaken, but are those cannons aimed towards the restaurant by that gray wall?

I woke up this morning to one present I wasn't quite expecting...
http://www.nedesigns.com/blockbuster/paramount-s-xtreme/

To see my park win such a prestigious award on a site such as NE is an honor. Thanks to everyone who helped me out during my 23 months of construction. The support you guys gave me every time I showed an update was what really helped me get this thing released. Again, thanks.

Great job zburns. I've been watching this since the day you started it and it only got better and better as you made it. This park really deserved this award and I'm glad it got it. Congratulations!

Congrats!! I too have been following this since the beginning. :) I know how hard it was for you to keep chugging through this project. I'm very ecstatic seeing it finished. :) I'll have to install WW now... :)

Very nice work man and congratulations on your honor! 23 months is a heck of a long time to be working on this park, and I can definately remember when you started this. I can't believe you stayed so committed to it. I could never do something so tedious! Mad Props to Mr. Burns... :)

Great job on finishing this park - from all the screens attached in the download, it looks amazing, but alas, I do not have Wacky Worlds, so cannot see it in game! Would've particularly liked to see your take on the Italian Job coaster in action. Congrats on the award.

It's good to see there's a Top Gun out there which has not been killed by Flight Deck.

Wow! Very nice park, especially IJ:ST and the stunt show with the boats. Man, if boats in a real stunt show moved that fast, I'd pay to watch it! lol Anyway, good job.

Sweet that this has been de-Wacky-Worlds-ized (if that's the correct terminology). I am downloading now and will comment later!

Edit: Comments;

This park was every bit as good as the screens suggested. What I liked best was how it felt like a real park, and in particular a Paramount park. Besides the ride selection, there's little sidestalls around the paving, lots of shows, themed areas (but not over-themed... as Paramount parks aren't big on theire theming). Basically, once I opened the saved game, it instantly looks like a real Paramount theme park, and has the atmosphere to match. It's a shame that the peeps end up getting lost (not your fault, I know!).

I enjoyed the rides and coaster selection. Entropy had a different but believable layout, as did Top Gun... and both had decent pacing (not overly fast). Racer was pulled off well; Italian Job was cool, but you could have possibly done more with it, and maybe use 8cars to change it from a single car to 3cars per train. Grizzly was good - and it looked brutal too, so extra points for realism! As I've already mentioned, it's nice to see a lot of shows around the park. Then there's other cool details like the facade for Deadman's Mine... very nice. I also really liked the area shared by Thunder Run and Log Jammer. At first, it looks a bit messy, but on closer inspection, it's just realistic. Most mine train rides seem to go all over the place... and this reminds me of a Log Flume and Mine Train combo at Phantasialand. I also liked the open air, double-platform for the log flume. The rapids were of course, very awesome. I liked how it clearly had its own area - like a number of rides. You can see how the park developed through time.

There were a few things I didn't like... Boomerang Bay was too small I thought. If you were going to include it, I think it needed to be a full-fledged, multi-attraction part of the park... it looks too much like an afterthought. The park layout was also odd (although this maybe adds to the realism, as it's not the idealised park layout most people use)... however, I thought that in terms of paths, there was only one real way for peeps to get to the back of the park - where there are a lot of attractions, and so in reality, there'd be a bottle-neck forming here.

Forgot to mention - I liked the 'extras' around the edge of the park... the hotel, golf course, and in particular, the coaster loops by the billboard for the park by the road. Overall, a really great park that oozes realism... and also has a ride selection to match. Few parks have held my attention for so long, and it's definitely staying saved to my hard drive. Great stuff!

Thanks for the review Alex. It means a lot to hear that people are enjoying the park. And thanks to everyone else as well for the kind words.
