Recently I was approached by Brandon on AIM, and he asked If I would be interested in reviving Coaster Dimension's Nano Challenge RCT2 Competition here on RCPro.

The Nano Challenge was a contest where a very small, irregularly shaped plot of land was provided every 3 weeks. Each round would have different criteria, such as height restrictions, ride type, scenery, and thematics. The goal was to create a similar challenge posed by parks when dealing with manurfacterers over the installation of a new ride. It was not easy, and one could not simply plop down a great layout and expect to win.

Judgeing was based on a 30 point system, with the winning criteria displaying a balanced and creative entry.

Architecture / Scenery : 10 possible pts.
Creativity / Space usage : 10 possible pts.
Quality of Specialty ride : 10 possible pts.

Total : 30 possible pts.

So, my question to RCPro is... Are you interested? It seems alot of you guys have tried to start very loosley-organized contests that are either too much work to complete or uninteresting to compete in. My goal here is to keep the same organized tone that was present at CD (Those who participated will tell you) while bringing great competition to RCPro. The best part about this contest is that it is not time consuming. Because of the small map sizes, you can have a winning entry in one-two hours of work, which can't be said for most other contests.

Please give me some feedback and input!

Jay

At CD I tried to change the contest up from round to round. Teams would be something we could do for a round, but generally the contest was individual. Anyone else interested or have comments or advice?

Smaller maps take less time, so I think I'd be able to participate. :)

I wouldn't mind doing this contest but I think with such small maps it would be better if we just kept it individuals.

I would say teams if it wasn't for my past experiences with the Summer Showdown.

This may push me to take out RCT2 again.

I would do this individually once the school year starts again...Ironically, I am much too busy all summer...
