8 Cars Trainer

I don't play Roller Coaster Tycoon anymore, but I've always wanted to understand the 8 cars trainer. What is it exactly, how does it work, who made it, and what are its most common uses? I know it sort of hacks the game and you can customize things, but beyond that I am clueless.

The 8 cars trainer allows you to basically cheat at Rct2, and it comes in handy by allowing you to add money, speed up your staff, and change the weather. But my personal favorite allows you to add bus loads of peeps to your park. ;) That's handy for the six flags challenges. The trainer is also handy for building your own parks out of the scenario editor too!

8cars is an absolute PITA that has a tendency to corrupt hours of work and not work with the most basic of commands.

Sorry, its been giving me major issues latley and makes RCT2ing a real chore. When it works its incredibly useful with the "zero clearances" tool. This allows you to build things whithin eachother, like shrubs below trees and layered walls. Does anyone know what to do if 8cars is not communicating with RCT2?

Same here. It's been giving me problems with track merging lately, after I finally got it to work for Deja Vu.

There's inherent dangers with using any trainer, since the game wasn't designed for it's use. Just save often...I've fixed many parks with it...and also ruined many parks...

The inherent dangers are actually the game NOT 8 Cars.
The creators are pit bull protective of their game.
ANY sort of hack is a prime target, once the game detects it, it generally will throw up the error trapper.
The safest options are the limp wimp changes: money, owned land etc......
BUT even these changes will sometimes cause the game to crash and burn.

The best advice was given above, save your game often.
Before you use ANY trainer with RCT2, SAVE YOUR GAME as a different file. IE. your parkv1 becomes your park v2 etc....
This will allow you to have your saved game in it's current condition should the game crash on you.

There are other trainers available for the game, however they, IN MY OPINION, are far more likely to crash your game than 8 Cars.
