View Full Version : Six Flags Over Indiana
So, I've been messing around with an RCT3 park, here are some screens.
Be sure to give me some constructive criticism, I could use it!

Welcome to Six Flags Over Indiana.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/ghost007jas/rct3/Shot0011.jpg
In this screen you can see El Toro, the parks Intamin pre-fab.

Another look at El Toro.

Moving on to the parks floorless, Nightshade.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/ghost007jas/rct3/Shot0008.jpg
The park also has a Deja Vu. (Note that I couldn't make an exact clone, as it's impossible in RCT3.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/ghost007jas/rct3/Shot0007.jpg
Next up is Goliath, an Arrow looper.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/ghost007jas/rct3/Shot0005.jpg
A better look at the station and queue.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/ghost007jas/rct3/Shot0004.jpg
On to Gotham City.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/ghost007jas/rct3/Shot0003.jpg
Mr. Freeze, a B&M hyper coaster.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/ghost007jas/rct3/Shot0002.jpg
Another look.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/ghost007jas/rct3/Shot0001.jpg
Batman: The Ride, well I think it speaks for itself.

One last look at the park.
As I said, criticize away!

Here we go!
Not much near the entrance except trashcans. El Toro's theming looks fine, but last time I checked wooden coasters don't have a pre-drop straight into the drop. Nightinshade needs theming but the track looks fine to me. Goliath is my favorite one so far, I actually like it. Gotham city is bare at the moment.
Overall, the park needs theming, maybe some custom supports wouldn't hurt. You have no vegetation for the most part. But I did find a lot of trashcans and benches!:D Most of your coasters I find with me in their layout. More flats are also badly needed.
I know you are messing around, but lets just try to make this a tad bit more realistic if that is what you are shooting for.
I have a fairly decent number of flats in gotham city, forgot to get some screens of it.
I'm having trouble finding theming for Gotham City..does anyone know of any custom scenery packs I could use?
Nightshade simply looks like the best coaster in the park! Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more of this.
Couple suggestions/criticism
1. More trees would make it look about 1,000 times better. It is very bare right now, so trees, buildings, just scenery would help.
2. I like how you have clones and have done the typical SF thing and just renamed them or just kept them the same.
3. Mr. Freeze looks good but it could be improved. Make the turnaround drop and then go back up with banked turns. Wild has this but it is confusing to use, or at least it didn't work for me a few times. The break run seems to ruin the ride from what I can see. Not even a full airtime hill. I would suggest adding another air hill between the drop and turnaround and then another one after turnaround, a double down possibly. As for the bottom of the drop, A tunnel would look perfect there. Something unique would be to have some sort of attraction, i.e. go karts, travel over the tunnel, making it original.
4. The Station is too boxy for Freeze as well and the Splash boat ride should have some water around it to say the least.
5. Custom supports
The park has potential, but is not all the way there yet.
Thanks for your suggestions. I don't have Wild at this point, so I'm having to deal withut it.
I was trying to give Mr. Freeze a boxy look to it, something similar to the real ride building. As you can see there are some things in this image that I simply can not do, due to the limitations of RCT3. I'll go back in and try to revamp the scenery, add some trees, etc.

Very nice park I like it alot and Freeze looks awesome. I do know what you mean by impossible with Deja Vu. Its impossible in everything but NL I bet. But also what was the idea behind the name? Why Indiana? Just curious there.
If I may step in for Jake, the idea is that it is over Indiana, as in you can find the park in the state of Indiana.
It's a good start, more dense theming will do ya good.

...But also what was the idea behind the name? Why Indiana?
Because Indiana is the coolest place in the world, duh...
j/k ;)
Because Indiana is the coolest place in the world, duh...
That, and the fact that it requires little landscaping, is a place with no Six Flags parks, and I have a friend that lives out there.
Basically cause I'm lazy ;).
Made a ton of changes to Freeze - now to be called the Dark Knight, nixed Batman: The Ride, although it may return, and I redesigned the flume ride.
Screens to come tomorrow.
no Six Flags there? But what about Six Flags Grand El - er, Adventureland??
-anyways, great looking park you have there!!
It would great if you could somehow make that clown facade like the real Mr. Freeze!

I think the "over" part has no valuable meaning except Over Texas since that's where the orginal name started out. Obviously the other names like Magic Mountain don't make much sense either but I'm talking specifically about "over"

Actually SFMM had a legend about trolls that needed fun to survive, and there was a wizard...and they lived on a magic mountain, and then one day, they decided to call it Magic Mountain. Then SF came along. See link:

I think you misunderstood what I was saying.
^^ Mr. Freeze is now the Dark Knight, so I fixed the "station", and I'll have screens up whenever, lol.

^ Can you make a "family" and add me to it? I wanna visit my new home park! :p
j/k
^ I'll be sure to get right on that.
SFOI has opened to the public! Here are some screens...
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/ghost007jas/rct3/Shot0013.jpg
Deja is the most popular ride in the park - seeing that it's right in the front and all.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/ghost007jas/rct3/Shot0015.jpg
A look at Goliath.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/ghost007jas/rct3/Shot0016.jpg
The guests haven't quite figured out how to get to the back of the park yet.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/ghost007jas/rct3/Shot0017.jpg
The flume ride has been rethemed.. You enter "Wayne Industries" where you are the test pilots in their newest high-tech vehicle. The Batmobile.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/ghost007jas/rct3/Shot0018.jpg
Complete with a water splashdown.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/ghost007jas/rct3/Shot0019.jpg
A look at the facade for the Dark Knight.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/ghost007jas/rct3/Shot0020.jpg
You enter an underground tunnel into the Bat Cave.
I lost the previous NightShade as well as Batman: The Ride, so I had to re-create NightShade..
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/ghost007jas/rct3/Shot0021.jpg
Themed to Vlad Dracula's castle.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/ghost007jas/rct3/Shot0022.jpg
This ride thrusts you through 11 hair-raising inversions.

An overview of NightShade and El Toro to close the update!

Excellent work, Jake. I really love the facade for the Dark Knight. The columns work well with the building. :)

This looks great, I love your designs and archy. but wheres the landscaping? even some random hills would look great.
^ & ^^ Thank you for the compliments.
^ Normally I would agree, but Indiana doesn't have any hills! ;).
It may not have hills, but it's not absolutely flat. Maybe just raising some land a few feet, but being a uniform height for thousands of feet around is a bit strange looking in RCT.
I'll think about raising some of the land...
http://conserveonline.org/docs/2001/05/Vina_and_Rain.jpg
I think this rests my case.
1) I see some hills back there, is that the state border or something? :p
2) I'm sure there is minor variation of terrain on that flat land.
The "Wayne Industries" water ride seems to have too short of a 'splash zone' from the looks of it.
And that's easily a couple thousand feet, is it not?
It's a little late to do any major landscaping without screwing up the rides already in place.
As far as the Batmobile ride is concerned, I tried to make the "Splash Zone" larger, but I was having problems with the energy of the boats... I'll work on it.

Well if your making it through a field, then there should be alot more shrubbery.
Personaly, I think regardless of how Indiana really is, there should be some small hills. It just makes everything look soooo much better.

Adding many trees is what I've always kept in my mind, to have RCT3 peeps feel happy. I know I can raise the park rating up a lot with that useful tip.:cool1:

^ Trees induce lag on low-end computers. It’s not always advised.
^^^ I honestly can't remember. I haven't touched this project in months.
