Some nice buildings. :)

http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/2958/gk6wi0.png

Blah Blah Blah. ;)

New for 1983 are two flats: Wave Swingers and Balloon Flite! They were built because the restaurant by Corkscrew wasn't very popular. :(

http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/5567/areatw6.png

I would close the park to peeps.. they make your pics look "cluttered"

I must say I like this park and somethings are just ok for me. I'm not a big fan of bright colors but with your building styles I can live with it. Also for the western show the roof would block off the show from the people siting at the top so instead of building the roof downwards build it upwards so they can see. I do really like the wooden mine coaster and the arrow very classy but really well flow to them. Also maybe vary up the bush on the go karts kind looks to much cluttered of the same and what are the log flumes for? Otherwise everything else looks really good. Keep up the good work.

IntaminFan007
10-05-2007, 10:57 PM
^ I was thinking the same thing.

I am guessing that this park was made in a "Carnival" setting. But if you want a traditional theme park you should have made the handrails either dark red or gray.

Sam

How long did it take you to make the Strata Tower?

The Storm Runner
10-06-2007, 11:17 AM
Thanks everyone for the comments! I don't think there are too many guests. It's realistic. When a big ride opens, everyone goes to it, and it attracts more people to the park. After a while, it dies down, and then they go to the next new ride. I would not be able to close this again. At first, I built stuff, opened it, closed it, built more, and so on. Now, I just keep it open. It saves a lot of time, and I love seeing how peeps like my rides. I'm not one for making non-peepable parks.

Ok, I'll change the roof of the show. :) And yeah, the bushes are repetitive.

Dark gray railings would make it look scary or sad; gray would just be too much. I like the bright colors such as yellow, red, purple, and others. :)

Hmm, I don't know exactly how long it too to build StrataTower. I raised all the land all the way (which in the game cost like 50,000 bucks total, raising and lowering it), built all the paths up there, the queue, some restaurants, benches and trash cans, then all of the exterior decor like the windows and arches and stuff. And, of course, I put the Whoa Belly at the top. Then I had to delete the elevator, lower all the land back, then rebuild the elevator (cause you can only build up, not down). I felt foolish for the supports of the tower cause I forgot to put that scenery item (steel latticework), so all of the extra supports you see are elevator rides below the ground. But since they're so close to eachother, I had to zero clearance after building each and every one. Then the queue and flowers and all that. :) Idk how long it took, probably a couple hours. :)

^Thanks!

And now...bring on the water with...whatever these people are going to!

http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/6341/teaserfh1.png

What is this mess!? It's...

http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/7456/bf1hp2.png

Briarbush Falls!

http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/4378/bf2vj4.png

Ooo, a jungle theme! I wonder how big that mountain thingy is... ;)

http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/1252/bf3iz9.png

Wow, that's pretty big! :D I forget exactly how big, but the land it at it's maximum height right there...

http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/6311/bf4al1.png

It's hard to tell, but this boat ^ there is going approx. 60 mph. :) It has enough momentum to get half way up the lift on the left. Also, its station and part of its queue...

http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/6594/bf5lt4.png

Yay queues!

BTW, this is part of a 3 phase watermountain project dubbed Boscage Bayou (Boscage=wilderness, Bayou=water, marsh, swamp). :)

And what's neat is they all use part of the mountain! Isn't that exciting!? :D

Sam

Recently theirs been a lot of timeline parks.
Warning : Beware of peops that go on the ride, they can be a pain in the butt later on.

Almost 23 hours later... Update Time!

1985: Phase 2 of Boscage Bayou

http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/8924/teaserxz7.png

Hmmm... It appears to be a water coaster from what I see...

http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/8158/teaser2fi7.png

It's big! The drops are big and it really boosted the park rating. :D

http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/7889/mdp1yt1.png

Mountain Dew Plunge!

http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/6519/mdp2cv9.png

Ooo, a littler island with lots of twists and turns. :) Also, Briarbush Falls!

http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/6192/mdp3ky3.png

It sure is bringing in the honors. :) A couple nice drops there. Also, a boat going up that littler mountain?

http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/2295/mdp4rw6.png

Station, track, a couple waterfalls. :)

http://img70.imageshack.us/img70/7458/mdp5ke1.png

And lastly, the beginning part of the ride and Elder Island Breeze! That concludes the update!

:)

This looks really interesting.
My only complaint would be the foliage all being so similar.

Also, is it possible that we could get an overview of the entire mountain.

The Storm Runner
10-08-2007, 09:06 PM
I can after Phase 3. :D If you think about it though, jungles look all the same. I'll see what I can do though to mix it up. :)

I really do not like two water rides being next to each other.

The Storm Runner
10-08-2007, 10:04 PM
The whole area is like a mini themed waterpark. :) The entire front side of the mountain is water rides. :)

IntaminFan007

Sorry for the long offseason! It's the day before opening, 1986. :) Phase 3 of Boscage Bayou is complete. :) Rumors have it however there is a mysterious phase 4...

To the pictures!

The front facade of Boscage Bayou. :) Wait a minute...what's that to the right?

http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/1173/area2ij8.png

Cataract Ridge, the river rapids ride! It's very exciting and has a very innovative water elevator.

http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/8224/area3ct5.png

Parrot Swings (possible rename), swings with fountains that drench riders above, and Bumper Boats. :)

And in other news, Elder Island Breeze's queue has been redone a third time:

http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/1030/area4ye7.png

I hope you like Boscage Bayou and rest of Elder Island!

nin
10-14-2007, 04:56 PM
It's all very nice. The only thing that i dont really like is that the water fall has soo much water, but only small amounts are "falling". I think if you add the ice cliff thing it would thicken it up.

The Storm Runner
10-19-2007, 03:03 PM
By popular demand, there was an added Phase 4 to Boscage Bayou! This included two new rides - Tidal Wave and Python Slide. :) Tidal Wave is a pirate ship ride that splashes water on people in line every time it goes up! Python Slide is a scenic water slide with a splashy finish. :)

http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/6201/python1yl7.png

Tidal Wave, Python Slide, and a newly painted Ultra Twister (just on the BB side). :)

Souvenirs shop and splashdown finish. :)

Sorry for the non-existant updates, but I wanted to get this area just right. Rugrat Reef! (No theme whatsoever! :))

http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/9867/rugratreefhu0.png

What's better is, it's a kiddie area on its own little island! And, you won't believe this. You have to take a monorail to get to it (Actually, you have to take "Toy Block Bridge". :D

Doesn't this look like fun!?

R.C.
11-04-2007, 09:35 PM
I like this. The kiddie coaster is good, I like the way it circles the island. I just think it could use some actual theming, but I don't know how you could do it.

Michael
11-05-2007, 05:33 PM
Hmm... I like it, it's just the red on that coaster stands out too much, doesn't really match much of the rest. Try maybe Blue? Or Orange? Idk, the red just looks a little awkward.

3xinvert
11-05-2007, 05:35 PM
Blue. Definitely blue. My eyes hurt from looking at that red color. whoof!
PM SENT AT 1733 EST NOV 5 TO TSR: PLESAE RESPOND.

nin
11-05-2007, 06:30 PM
Im sorry but I just dont like it. I know it's a kiddie area, but still, It looks a little chaotic and crammed. If I were you, Id go back, expand the island (if possible), give the area a theme or something. I think you should go basck and redo this, though it does remind me of classic rct...which is a good thing.

vedved82491
11-06-2007, 05:52 PM
You do know this could cause a problem? It's similar with a Skytower. Certain people will ride the monorail one direction and maybe ride a ride there, but let's say they want to ride a coaster next, but they refuse to take the monorail there. They'll get mad, and eventually want to go home.

So maybe construct a small bridge for those willing to walk ;)

Michael
11-06-2007, 05:54 PM
^Keep in mind, he's probably not building this to be a sucessful RCT park, he's building it for us :p He's not trying to make it functional...

The Storm Runner
11-06-2007, 06:03 PM
Thanks everyone for the comments!

R.C.-That'll come in a later year ;)

Intamin-Mike-I'll mess around with the colors. :)

3x-I'm gonna experiment with the colors. :)

nin-That's the feeling I was going for. :) Not exactly cramped, but a pint sized island. :)

ved-I understand what you're saying. When there's a big mass of people in the StrataTower who are going somewhere, I can just delete all the paths they're on, making them fall back on to the ground level and rebuild the paths, but here I guess I can't. Hmmm, I'll take that into consideration. Thanks. :)

Intamin-Mike- I'm not sure if that's sarcasm or not, but I intend on making this peep-functional. :)

Dan
11-06-2007, 08:23 PM
I do think a walkway is a good idea, I don't know about in your game but in the real world, lines would get really backed up. If a kid doesn't want to get on the monorail he can't get to that area. I know it wouldn't look as good, but consider it.

Comet
11-07-2007, 05:05 PM
You could make a tunnel going under the water just for peeps sake, just try and make it as least noticeable as possible.

I really like the idea, name, and execution of this section, probably my favorite update of this yet.

The Storm Runner
11-07-2007, 07:38 PM

it seems like a bad idea to have a kiddie area surrounded by water and no fence. I think we'll be hearing about quite a few drownings.. Although it is just rct. It looks great though man, keep it up!

The Storm Runner
11-07-2007, 07:42 PM
Actually, there is a fence there - surrounding every path. :) Also, that's what the parents are for... (even though there are still many incidents when the parents are right there).

Thank you for your concern. :)

You have hit the Black Hole glitch.
There is no way to fix it except with WinHack.

WinHack is an extremely advanced piece of software but I'd recomend sending the park to Levis over at NewElement. I'm sure he'll be happy to fix it for you.

Nice park by the way. :D

It's not the black hole glitch. It's a quake. I say don't go back. Just work on other areas of the park and stop cycling the coaster. It will go away--I can almost promise you that. I had one in Paramount right next to Top Gun for about 10 RCT years. One day I just started working and it was gone. Good luck getting rid of it, because I would hate to see you lose such a creative design.

The Storm Runner
11-10-2007, 10:36 PM
Thanks everyone for the support! I sent EI to Levis yesterday, so we'll see what happens. :)

Zach, it's a quake/black hole combo. What caught my attention of it was a train that crashed. It crashed into the quake, raised 600 ft high. I just closed the ride and ignored it and kept on building. A while later, after it did go away, it the track that beheld the quake was all distorted at different angles. Furthermore, whenever I tried testing the ride, altering the ride layout, deleting the ride, anything, I would get an error trapper.

But hopefully Levis will get it worked out with his software and high techy shtuff. :)

I think TSR just started a new wave in clean parks. The idea is to now have fun with your trash and not to just throw it on a Woodie. Now you can step right up and play basketball and throw it into the trash can and win a prize if you make it! If not then no worries, it will roll down into a big trash can and not be littered. Lol But being serious, very nice job TSR. It looks great! Keep going bro, I cant wait to see whats coming up next.

UPDATE!

http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/1595/cc7tx2.png

Welcome to 1990! This year we debut with a whole new section, Canvas Circus!

http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/4488/cc1sp5.png

Moving into the new themed land, we see the Canvas Circus, the new Schwarzkopf launching looper, Human Cannonball, some Fudge, Acrobat, a flat, and Bozo's, where one can eat some delicious food items of probably no nutritional value. :)

http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/6016/cc2ub9.png

The station and exit of Human Cannonball, the rear of Canvas Circus, Clown Car, a flat ride, the rear of Fudge, Bozo's, Acrobat, Lion Tamer, and various other things.

http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/6747/cc4om3.png

The abdomen of Human Cannonball (custom supports not entirely finished yet), a fun house called A Bozo's Abode, the backside of yet another eating establishment, this one called "Cookies." :)

http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/3656/cc5xu6.png

The cannon-like station of Human Cannonball (Yay pyro in the back!). I wonder where the train is.....

http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/4707/cc6hl6.png

And finally, a backside shot of the entrance to Canvas Circus. There's also a mega sign leading you back into Boscage Bayou.

Thanks for viewing! (Look at my sig! It's been like that for a week now. :))

I can't wait to see the next project!

The Storm Runner
12-01-2007, 06:26 PM
Sorry, but due to the extensiveness of this project, it has been delayed until 1993. But in the meantime, Mountain Dew Plunge has undergone a big renovation. Before the rehab, the ride pulled a very low rph and had long, slow lines. Now, the lines are still long, but go very quickly. :)

http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/6990/mdp1wp2.png

Now, there is absolutely no stacking! No waiting at the top of one of the seven or eight lifts, just continous riding! This took over a full RCT year to ensure the ride would accomplish this, which also included raising the speed of the lift to 12 mph, doubling it.

http://img70.imageshack.us/img70/6042/mdp2bd4.png

What great honors it has gotten! The only ones I think I have yet to get are best food/drink and best toilets. :(

http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/4576/mdp3yz9.png

Before the rehab, this line would be well over "30 minutes". Now, it's just below 15 usually. :) Also, the rph increased by at least 250% It use to pull like 500 or 600 rph...

Like I said, this big project is ahead of its time, and with the size of this project and everything involved, it's gonna be...."behemoth"! :)

(But am I just luring you into thinking this is a B&M hyper? Or am I using reverse psychology?)

nin- Mountain Dew was nothing at the time, so in reality, the soda company copied off of Elder Island, but they don't want people to know that.

SV- lol thanks. :)

FX-1: Caterpillar is actually a custom ride. I can't pinpoint at this very moment where I got it, but you'll be able to get it when you download Elder Island. :)

This is the back part of Zest of Zimbabwe, the farthest place to walk to in the park. Here, there is a dark ride called Curse of Shamu or something like that (I can't remember at the moment). It's sorta in the big BOX right to the right of the right part of Boomslang's cobra roll. :)

Boomslang looks awesome! I'm loving the scenery you've used, and the use of the green track in that little turnaround area. The turns over water also look great. The one criticism I have is that the two green buildings in the last shot seem out of place color wise. May just be the angle though...keep it up!

New for 1994 are improved queue line televisions, which have been added and/or updated to:

White Lightning
Elder Island Breeze
Silver Bullet Mining Mountain
Ghost Karts
Corkscrew
StrataTower
Ultra Twister
Boomslang
Human Cannonball
Clown Car
Cataract Ridge
Mountain Dew Plunge
Briarbush Falls
Python Slide

which are most of the park's big attractions. :)

Now, the park wants your input! Elder Island has been wanting to use the backside of Boscage Bayou to make a mountainous terrain themed land. Two themed land options are:

Chinese/Nepalian Himalayan mountain land
A Village in the Alps

Please give your input! :) The park really can't decide!

Dan
12-23-2007, 10:54 PM
I think a village in the alps would be coolest.

Jumpman23
12-24-2007, 07:20 PM
I think a oriental style town or a Tibetan style would look good on the side of a mountain, and you could do a everest style rollercoaster.

Update! New for 1995 are three fairly good sized rides. :)

The first is HiWire, a monorail that circles Canvas Circus.

http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/9097/hiwirewc8.png

The second is Fire Breather, which is also part of the new addition to Canvas Circus (along with HiWire and the food shops below its station).

http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/7100/firebreathergh8.png
Note: The colorful building in this picture is the station of HiWire along with food shops and stuff. :)

And thirdly is Island Skyway, a chairlift ride that traverses the length of the park. :)

http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/2534/islandskywayoc3.png

It's in the middle of several lands, so it'll be like the entrance area, generic, with sighs indicating the themed lands around it. :)

That's all for '95!

There are signs around the park that say:

"Jubeln Sie für Deutschland zu!" It's also said that this new area will cost around $1,000,000 (In RCT2 money!)

:D

I like the park, and the way you use custom/basic theming is very nice, too. Keep up the good work.

I'm no expert with German, but I think that's something like "Good things for German You" (Again, no expert, but I think I get the point)

Can't wait for the next update!

To celebrate the park's 25th anniversary, in 1996 Elder Island is adding a new section to the park...

http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/8726/dshvd1ct8.png

Die Sieben Höhen von Deutschland - The Seven Levels of Germany

http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/6720/dshvd2hi1.png

The whole section starts off with the Glockenspiel town square. Then, there are several steps up and another little town square. Then more steps, another square, and so on. :) There are seven levels in all. :)

http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/4831/dshvd3eb2.png

This second entrance is right by Island Skyway. There are several rides in DSHVD. Three can be found in this screen - Golden Eagle, a prominent bird in the Alps; 4,808 Meters, a simulator that takes you to the top of Mont Blanc (which just so happens to be 4,808 meters tall...), and...

http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/3711/dshvd4sy2.png

Investigation Iceman!

http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/3497/dshvd5bj5.png

A cool monorail ride where you, the rider, searches for the legendary Iceman!

http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/5354/dshvd6bb1.png

The Oktoberfest (some food shops), The Bobs, and the square down by the Glockenspiel. :)

http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/9404/dshvd7hw7.png

Höhe 7 is Snowman Summit. The Glockenspiel aspect of the village really brightens the gray town. :)

http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/9876/dshvd8kr8.png

Mountain Dew Plunge goes through DSHVD not only once, but twice. Also, as you depart the village and go back to somewhere else, you must walk under the sign that says "Auf Wiedersen", which I hope you know as "Good-bye". :)

http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/918/dshvd9kb7.png

A final look at the new land. :) It's second entrance is conveniently located right next to Island Skyway!

Thanks for viewing! :) Happy New Year!

I really like Investigation Iceman. I think it could use some more scenery though. I just think it looks too plain. Maybe add a small cabin or a cave or something similar to that.

The whole village looks awesome. I don't know what you're going to do about reaching the attractions limit, maybe add some more highly themed areas, just don't put in real attractions, just a lot of fake shops and buildings to finish off the park.

The Storm Runner
12-31-2007, 01:31 PM
^^Actually, it's suppose to spell out the whole thing (the correct way), but there's not enough space on that one line for it. So it just says "Auf Wiederseh" . Thanks though! I'll have to fix that...

^Thanks. :) You just made me remember all the eerie scenery I could use to spice it up. Thanks! As a matter of fact...

Update '97!

A couple things for this legendary year...

http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/9834/esplanade1kv2.png

Elder Tree Esplanade, a section of the park named after the namesake of the island, the Elder Tree. (No, not as in senior citizens)

http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/2346/esplanade2oe9.png

There are three rides in Elder Tree Esplanade. Two are shown here: The Mangulina Magnolia (monorail) and Garden Go-Go's (cars).

http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/9721/esplanade3ts3.png

More cars and more The Mangulina Magnolia.

http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/573/esplanade4wo0.png

Rolling Greens (maze). :) This fits in just beyond Pioneer Frontier.

And now for the far more important part of the update...

http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/1503/hotel1qw4.png

What is this!? A Hotel!

http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/3998/hotel2jb4.png

The hotel along with the hotel water park. Also note the mini golf course with scenic trees and water. :)

http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/5193/hotel3ba3.png

More of the hotel. :)

http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/4421/hotel4kn5.png

Hooray for the Fun Fort!

http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/738/hotel5en2.png

Coasters, volleyball, rides, shops, games, water slides, hotel rooms, jacuzzi's, the only thing the park doesn't have are...

http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/1522/hotel6pc6.png

Cottages! They are for the larger families who all want to be in one big environment overnight without having to pay for multiple expensive hotel rooms. :) And a scenic park. :)

And finally, how this all fits in, the bridge that connects the hotel/cottages and Elder Tree Esplanade (DLR anyone?). :)

http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/3195/bridgedg4.png

And that concludes this update!

That Elder Island (insert how ever you spell that last part) looks like you used Six Flags Sunset Lake for inspiration cause the areas look a lot like the entrance of that park but yet different at the same time. I also agree with dlhand on the colors of the hotel. They never caught on to me. But I do like the rest of the hotel though especially the playground. The cottages was a great idea but maybe some different style cottages would make that area better. Great work though none the less.

Dan-Done, Done, and Done. :) Thanks!

3xinvert- Does Hershey have a bridge going over to the park? ;) Jk. Thanks!

Nate- Yup, and I may really shorten the length of the trains. Either that, or the length of the ride. You probably can't see it, but there are ladders that go up to the platform of the slides. And the red and yellow slides coming from the hotel start from a deck on the hotel. :)

rcwhiz- Now that I look at it, I guess it does. I really forgot about SFSL though (Sorry G255!) when making it. I used the same kind of building style like that several other times throughout the park.

sheikra182- Lol, thanks. :)

The rocks would look better if you didn't have such a rough transition from the rocks to the grass. I suggest you put some of the grass/dirt texture along the border tiles.

Update '99! ('Cause '98 brought nothing new)

http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/5493/noveltopia1nl7.png

Welcome to Noveltopia, the haven for all English teachers (and book clubs)!

http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/7494/tombz3.png

Here we have Tom Sawyer's Riverboat, a boat tour show that takes place every 2 hours.

http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/4131/areapx8.png

Here are Moby Dick, Around the World in Eighty Days, more Tom, and Black Beauty. Positively the most exciting books in the world! :wink2:

http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/3126/blackix4.png

Here's the full layout of Black Beauty. What's that black area at the bottom? It could be a 300 ft Intamin giga, or it could just be me trying to fool you into thinking I'm putting a 300 ft Intamin giga in...

http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/8836/area2kl4.png

Here is the other half of Noveltopia. The big wooden building is the Globe Theatre, which is, until further notice, showing/telling the stories of "POEMS by Edgar Allan Poe." Poems such as The Raven, Annabel Lee, and all those other poems by the Master of the Macabre. Oh, and it's in 3D! :cool1:

Also, Through the Looking Glass, which is half of the movie Alice in Wonderland (It's this and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland or something like that), is a dark ride roller coaster complete with Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum!

There's also One Thousand and One Knights (after I remembered Aladdin wasn't a book...), a magic carpet ride, and the other station of Island Skyway, which goes from Germany to here.

http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/222/gardenwalkql0.png

And in case you were inspired so much by Moby Dick and wanted to get to Rugrat Reef ASAP, Elder Island put into place a little "shortcut" with picnic tables and trees!

Thanks for seeing [partly] the latest EI progress!

Heh, all the pics get bigger as the update goes on...lol

So, in 1999, surveys were done on the old plantation house on the corner of the island. Furthermore, the HiRail monorail in Canvas Circus was torn down mysteriously...

And now...

Welcome to the new millennium!

Several new things have come into place

http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/4856/cabinsik7.png

Firstly let's get the boring news out of the way - a [small] family reunion cabin on a hill! That, and another cabin with a nice, romantic deck.

http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/5677/mississippi2mj3.png

Mississippi River Chute has gone under renovation to become Mississippi River Run! ( http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/116/msriver2fg7.png - a picture back from when MRC was introduced in 1975) Mainly this included the spiral helix and tunneled lift hill.

http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/7965/cp1vd7.png

And now what you've been waiting for! Chadwell Plantation Tour Ride!

http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/601/cp2qo2.png

What a gloriously magnificent plantation house! Guests enter the queue line by entering a tunnel to the right of the mansion. Also, there is a garden behind back! (Note the HiRail station)

http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/3425/cp3zl0.png

More garden, more houses, some orchards, some rapids, some bridges, a ton of fun.

http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/1091/cp35ys9.png

Ooo! More gardens, roofs, orchards, gazebos, fields, housing, trees, a deck, and several fountains!

http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/3586/cp4zf3.png

Fields and slave homes and a red car (manufactured by Mack) traversing the crops at 30 some mph. Investigation Iceman is in the background as well.

http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/2595/cp5tf5.png

Gardens, orchards, that same red car, and more trees of various colours. Said red car is actually by a gloomy grave monument (seriously, it's there  ).

http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/8977/cp6fl2.png

Different orchards, bridges, fountains, slave houses, etc.

http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/2789/cp7un0.png

More former slave residencies/brightly colored-mock lighthouse minus the light/wooden deck.

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/7922/cp8ht8.png

And finally, an overview of the restored estates.

Thanks for viewing!

only thing I can recommend is to fence off the track, if the park is still open for the season. Also, no B&M track sections are ever that large in size for one single piece. Maybe make them a lot smaller to be more realistic.

The Storm Runner
08-22-2008, 10:38 AM
^Who says it's a B&M?

And now, before we get to the main attraction, let's recap on the new additions / general improvements that have recently occurred.

http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/8591/cplf0.png

Chadwell Plantation Tour Ride debuted last year to rave reviews. :)

http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/3904/chaosff6.png

Chaos has been added to the line of thrill rides here.

http://img387.imageshack.us/img387/4733/mrrzs5.png

Alterations to Mississippi River Chute have changed its name to Mississippi River Run.

http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/5674/bspm1.png

Boomslang has added a third train, making operations much faster.

http://img388.imageshack.us/img388/3264/cswq4.png

Corkscrew has added a third train as well. :)

http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/1476/wlny7.png

White Lightning has added a fifth train to increase operations.

http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/5024/capacityhv0.png

That is a lot of cars. :)

And now...

http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/4987/d1kl1.png

Diamondback! (I named this in June, long before the KI announcement)

http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/7426/d2og3.png

Testing this beast before its Grand Opening, the ride starts off by climbing into the sky over two hundred feet (it's a mystery how tall the ride is; I'll have to look into it later ;)).

http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/356/d3ws8.png

This has a slightly different type of supports as the other Giovanola out in Southern California. Slightly.

http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/2848/d4iq1.png

The first drop, a dive over water. :D

http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/2759/d5jq1.png

From there, the coaster has a big turnaround over the grassy field to the side of the Hotel Auberges (sorry, colors of the fun fort sadly cannot be changed).

http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/3571/d6be7.png

Following the second drop, the train flies over an airtime hill...

http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/6259/d7gb0.png

...into a helix and another hill!

http://img399.imageshack.us/img399/6792/d8kh6.png

Following the second airtime hill are a bunch of little hills heading towards the entrance to Pioneer Frontier. (Note the cool rope bridge in the queue of Silver Bullet)

http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/4527/d9sq4.png

A few hills go over Silver Bullet Mining Mountain, making for an exciting ride! Lots of interactions (and balloons) here. :)

http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/683/d10bd2.png

Some more hills :)

http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/4356/d11gv4.png

A pre-MCBR helix (familiar?)

http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/4774/d12rd9.png

Lots of twisty, turny track following the MCBR, something Giovanola made for the first time, which worked out well. :) It still uses many of the same buildings as Ghost Karts (Did I mention Ghost Karts was taken out for this to be put in? I didn't? Whoops... :o)

http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/6317/d13st7.png

Going into the ending part :)

http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/1159/d14ie8.png

Gotta love long lines and over seven attractions sitting right next to each other (or above each other). :)

http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/2641/d15gg7.png

Just another picture of the second drop and its cool supports.

http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/7002/d16ao5.png

An overview :)

I love the supports. on the helix before the mcbr, there is a support that isnt attached to anything, also I dont care for the turnaround by the hotel and kiddie-area; it doesnt seem realistic, like when people want to sleep in they cant because of a loud Giovanola right outside the window.

Either way, no track sections are ever that large.

Michael: Thanks :)

Jumpman23: Thanks. It's just that angle. From another angle, it does look attached. Had I put a connector there, in other angles it would have looked like it had gone through the track. Are Giovanola's loud? Can they not be filled with sand like B&M's to be quieter? I don't know about you, but I'd love to be awakened by the sound of a roller coaster. :) Also, they can always stay in a cabin on the other side of the hotel.

Whisper: Cheap ones? A cheap hotel? It has pools and slides!

I don't wanna sound like a noob, but how do you make tunnels for coasters?

In RCT2 you have to build track into a vertical cliff for the ride to go into a tunnel. You can also make tunnels with scenery...

I love the park so far TSR. You did a really good job on the supports for Diamondback, I can never take that much time to mess with custome supports.

Jacksen

i'm in love with every square inch of this park, although i think that the green coaster - which name i of course forgot as it's now i'm posthing - shouldn't be that near the hotel, that's the only part of the park i don't like, coaster in the hotel
but the rest :D:D is fantastic!

The Storm Runner
09-05-2008, 11:00 PM
R.C. - Thanks, yeah, that's basically what I accomplished in the months of July and about half of August. :)

Jacksen - It's really not a coaster in a hotel. If there's sand in the track, it'll be surprisingly very quiet.

A bunch of you commented about the close proximity of the coaster to the hotel. Well, take a look at some parks around the world in close quarters to places:
http://www.rcdb.com/ig1251.htm?picture=3
http://www.rcdb.com/ig3757.htm?picture=19
http://www.rcdb.com/ig2567.htm?picture=1

Sure the locals complain, but they're locals. This is an on-resort hotel. So you're suppose to like rides unlike the non-riding old-folk locals.

And really, there was no where else to build the hyper. Seriously, it could not possibly have gone anywhere else, stemming from the Pioneer Frontier section of the park (which reminds me, as many of you have gone to Hersheypark within the past month, you'll realize that I stole that name from Hershey...:o). It just had to be placed there.

Thanks for the nice comment, Jacksen! :)

Thanks, but I guess I should explain the situation. A few weeks ago my portable hard drive crashed with all copies of Elder Island on it. All 170+ of them. The future of the hard drive is still pending. Thankfully I had sent Goliath255 a copy in May, so I retrieved it from then and downloaded it this past Friday. However, it's from May, so it doesn't have Diamondback on it. That's pretty much the only big thing missing. Oh drat, it looks as though you've come on the wrong day (Everybody apparently is thrilled to be at an island amusement park in late March).

http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/4204/entry3r.jpg

Like many other parks, Elder Island's parking lot is equipped with underground subways with two stations in the lot, one by the entrance to the park, one by the hotel, and one by something else. One track goes clockwise, the other counter-clockwise.

http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/9695/entry4.jpg

Here we have some stores, some mini golf, some boardwalks, and water.

http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/7184/water4.jpg

Here is the Sunset Pier, where guests can go out on a good 'ole rickety wooden platform out really really far into the ocean and be blinded by the sun's powerful rays. :)

http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/1127/water5u.jpg

Mini golf! And some other stuff, too.

http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/8417/water6n.jpg

Here is the Seaside Steak Bar & Grill, a quaint retreat from the sun and surf (minus the surf part)

http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/7354/water7.jpg

This is a view of the area with some sand and slides and cabanas. (I forget what I named it. It's probably something like 'Sand and Slides and Cabanas')

http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/9161/wildq.jpg

There is also a special dock for boats going to two private islands, each themed. The first (whose name I cannot recall) is wilderness-themed, with a tree parachute ride, canoes, a fire ring, and a nice ten-bedroom cabin.

http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/8472/paradiseg.jpg

The second is Paradise Island, a nice hospice for anyone who enjoys paradise while viewing an abandoned plantation right next door.

And with that, that concludes this installment of the saga of Elder Island. :)

After a long period of quietness, construction has begun for two very large coasters. Well, one is opening in the year 2002, the other, 2004. The latter is so immense, construction is beginning now, for it requires the removal of a beloved ride with a terrible capacity added in the 1980's. Here are two current pics:

http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/7461/teaser1.png

The Storm Runner

Thanks, everyone! Yeah, the barge was just for show for the forums...it was there for a grand total of about 5 minutes. Anyway, let's retrack the 21st century. 2000-Noveltopia area. 2001-Paradise Island and Wilderness Island (two island lodging facilities). New for 2002 is...

http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/8386/imagofaclown2.png

Imagination of a Clown, a fun dark ride where riders go around in helicopters and witness all the crazy things clowns do.

http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/4614/imagofaclown.png

It completes the Canvas Circus section of the park, way back in the corner by Hampton Plantation.

http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/2905/invest1.png

New for 2003 is a large renovation on Investigation: Iceman. What used to be a slow-paced monorail-style ride, I:I is a mine train coaster that incorporates a very similar track layout as the former version of the ride.

http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/6016/invest2.png

Here is another angle of the ride. Also visible is a large sign with the park's motto: "Making Today Fun". Why is it there, you say? When Investigation: Iceman was renovated, room was made inside the mountain for park offices. There are still offices outside, however, because so much room is needed. The area beside the mountain, where employees enter and exit the park, too, is not anywhere near the parking area, however...

http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/462/emp1.png

Here is the parking garage, going along with the stapled colors that mark the walls in other areas of the Island. It's where employees with a driver's license can park, and where the younger employees can get picked up and dropped off.

http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/1521/emp2.png

Employees then take a monorail journey to the office plaza (next to I:I). Because of close quarters, with the parking lot touching buildings in the Elder Island Waterfront, the monorail was built using the pre-existing walls of the parking lot.

http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/2356/emp3.png

Here is the other monorail station. All of the buildings that are potentially in view of guests carry the theme of the area of the park, A Small Village in Deutschland.

http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/8493/emp4.png

Here is the office plaza, with special offices for each department including Rides, Games, Foods, Utilities, Maintenance, Wardrobe (plus locker rooms for the employees to change in), and Human Resources. Also, this is the place where barges can bring deliveries to the island. While small room is available for trucks, the by-sea option is still commonly used for the large distance items. It is important not to neglect these areas, as without them, there would be no food, prizes, plants, flowers, or basically everything inside the park.

Opening Day, 2004: A lot of people are showing up in record numbers...

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/300/rest2.png

We haven't seen some of the lines be this long in yeeeeeears...

http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/7528/rest3.png

Oh, and new transfer track areas were built for rides like White Lightning and Corkscrew.

http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/1893/rest4.png

Have fun! They're all here, however, for another ride...

http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/1731/buzzards1.png

Buzzards of Hemlock Hill Canal!

http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/9965/buzzards2.png

The new B&M flyer is located beside Bumper Boats and across from Cataract Ridge over in Boscage Bayou.

http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/2103/buzzards3.png

The ride begins with a trip leaving the station and going up, up, and away.

http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/1747/buzzards4.png

Following the lift, the train swoops to the right and flies into a pretzel loop. The Mid-course brake run also is in the area, as well as a few other elements that come later in the ride.

http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/5650/buzzards5.png

A few airtime hills follow the course of the once-used Hemlock Hill Canal. A large egg turn over the Waterfront succeeds.

http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/7375/buzzards6.png

There's a bit more after the turn before the MCBR, but afterwards, the train flips and rides lie on their backs before being flipped again, then into a few turns over more canal locks and the queue.

http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/4441/buzzards7.png

There's another zero-g roll over the lift hill, as well as another MCBR, a new format: a lift/brake combo on a little hill. There is a platform that can move over the canal, just below the track, that can get people out of the car if needs be.

http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/6503/buzzards8.png

The ride finishes with a few more turns over gardens and a small helix back into the brake run.

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/4791/buzzards9.png

The ride borders the water slide park on the Waterfront.

http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/1245/buzzards10.png

An overview for Steve (I remember the days when every overview was "for Steve K").

http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/2044/buzzards11.png

Here, between the egg turn and the MCBR, is a zero-g roll over a waterfall that guests view as they drive into the parking lot. Also note the truck delivery entrance that goes underneath the ride and canal.

http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/5999/buzzards12.png

An overview of the ride, with stats.

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/7035/buzzards13.png

The ride gets a very good riders per hour, thanks to four, 32-seater trains.

http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/6695/buzzards14.png

I think those numbers speak for themselves... :)

http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/8315/buzzards15.png

A view of the layout and queue, minus scenery and landscaping.

Buzzards is a ride whose construction began in year 150, and opened in my 150th backup file of the park lol. (It feels weird opening a ride for the first time with it saying "43 years old". Then again, it's nothing compared to the 193 year old Grand Carrousel lol.)

Opening Day 2007

http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/5438/wotw.png

New this year is War of the Worlds, a Premier launch coaster featuring the aliens from the classic novel/movie, intertwined with civilians and other scenery. (Actually it's really really old in the actual park, but I just kept it out of the rest of the shots for a long time haha)

Opening Day 2009

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/8440/di1.png

New this year is Diamondback (recycling the name from the lost Giovanola from a few summers ago. I named that ride Diamondback BEFORE Diamondback at KI was announced).

http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/4262/di2.png/

It replaced Ghost Karts, the popular 1982 go karts that raced through an abandoned western town. It even used this same station.

http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/1180/di3.png

Diamondback is an Intamin plug-and-play prefabricated wooden coaster. It uses a very fast cable lift.

http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/8817/di4.png

The 78 degree drop packs quite a punch!

http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/2477/di5.png

It's incredibly steep.

http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/6919/di6.png

The next few hills give riders a ton of airtime!

http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/6410/di7.png

Diamondback is very close to Mississippi River Run and Rodeo.

http://img816.imageshack.us/img816/4572/di8.png

The queue intertwines with the track and layout.

http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/3851/di9.png

The last, semi-overbanked turn passes over the queue for Corkscrew before going into the brakes.

http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/8492/di10.png

As always, an overview for Steve!

And now, Elder Island is completely up-to-date. Thank you for experiencing this journey with me! It's been in the working since July 2007. Download coming shortly.

The Storm Runner

Thanks! The Giovanola Diamondback was lost with the breaking of my portable hard drive in the fall of 08. Luckily I had one file of the park, but it was pre-Diamondback. It's a bummer, though, because that ride was basically all I did that summer. This Diamondback is still cool, though. :)

ELDER ISLAND: THE RELEASE

What began in July of 2007 as a blank RCT2 map has finally, and completely, transformed into a deluxe island resort. Named for the tree that has dwelled on the island for centuries, Elder Island is composed of the themed amusement park, the Hotel Auberges, and the Waterfront.

Elder Island is home to eleven themed areas. The first is Carrousel Bridge, whose majestic stones and colors are home to White Lightning, a PTC/John Allen classic, and Elder Island Breeze, an early Schwarzkopf that actually began as a non-looping coaster but was later fitted with two inverting loops. Then there's Pioneer Frontier, with the runaway mine cart experience of Silver Bullet Mining Mountain, a journey through a ghost town on Diamondback, and a refreshing splish-splash on Mississippi River Run. Elder Tree Esplanade is your doorway to the park if you are staying at the Hotel Auberges. The Esplanade carries classics like the antique cars and log flume. Along the west bank of Elder Island is Noveltopia, with rides themed to everyone's favorite classics, including a Premier launch coaster themed to War of the Worlds and an Arrow steeplechase coaster themed to Black Beauty. In the corner, on a separate mini island, Rugrat Reef is the island getaway for the kids, who will be jumping for joy after a ride on the Zierer junior coaster, Island Breezes. Continuing around the circle is StrataPlaza, home of the 240 ft. StrataTower observation deck. It is the highest point on the island. Also nearby is the Arrow multi-looping coaster, creatively named Corkscrew, and the Togo Ultra Twister. In the back of the park is Zest of Zimbabwe, who brags the B&M sit-down of the park, Boomslang. On the east side of Elder Island is Boscage Bayou, a land themed to a rainforest wetland. All rides in this area may or may not leave you soaked! Highlights include the towering O.D. Hopkins Briarbush Falls, the Premier water coaster Mountain Dew Plunge, the new B&M flyer, Buzzards of Hemlock Hill Canal, the river rapids Cataract Ridge, and Python Slide. Next is Canvas Circus, where you can sit back in a big top and watch some amazing circus acts, as well as looping on a Schwarzkopf launched looper, Human Cannonball. Right beside Canvas Circus is Hampton Plantation, the original fields where the first cultivation of Elder Island began. It is now home to a Mack wild mouse adventure called Hampton Plantation Tour Coaster. Finally is A Small Village in Deutschland, themed to Germany of course, and home to the Vekoma mine train coaster, Investigation: Iceman.

Here is a final screenshot of the resort:

And the moment you've all been waiting for...

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RZZWU5R7

Note: If you are missing some object files, let me know. I included some potentially troublesome AmazingEarl files. Also, if it crashes as soon as you open it, just try again. It does that sometimes.

Enjoy, and thanks everyone for this wonderful journey!

(Hey Steve, is this RCPro Spotlight-worthy?)

EDIT: A few sidenotes:

-Thank you to my dear friend who saved Boomslang when it had some wacky land error in it. You really saved the day!
-Elder is a tree, not like "older" (Harry Potter anyone?)
-Diamondback was originally a Giovanola hypercoaster that was built in the summer of 2008 only to be lost a few months later. It was named before the announcement of Kings Island's Diamondback!
-I finished the park months ago, but I've been tweaking things here and there, such as the second Mangulina Magnolia station.
-Hope you like it! :)

IMPORTANT: If at any time all the trains on a coaster stop, simply pause the game, click the ride's red flag twice to clear the tracks, then unpause.
Also, if you downloaded it prior to 11:36 PM, EST on 12/29/10, you should download it again, or else a few rides will be messed up.

Question, what if we don't have any CS and we still want the park?

Brandon
12-30-2010, 01:13 AM
^ The CS should be included with the file.

Nick, i'll download this tonight but I have plans with the g/f tomorrow so I'll write my review for this on Friday. Besides, it'll give me time to take a look at everything in the park. From the looks of it already though, it looks Spotlight worthy!

EDIT: I extracted the park and opened it up, but got a error that started with "BURGSUB/00000" plus numerous other numbers. Any idea what this is due to?

The Storm Runner
12-30-2010, 01:43 AM
Crap. It's some other custom scenery. http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=597493

Put that in your Obj Data folder. Hopefully it'll work! Thank you, btw :)

Monkey: Like Brandon said, hopefully it'll still work. <crosses fingers>

Worked for me, no issues. I recommend opening the file directly before launching the game. When it fails to load, go back to the main screen, do a backflip out of your chair, yell at the neighbor out of your window, kick your computer in the shin, and then blame Nick for failing to upload a working copy of the file. It probably won't fix your issue, but you'll feel better. :)

I'll take a look at it in a bit for Spotlight consideration...lol.
