BGA is an amazing park. The rides are top notch, especially SheiKra. All of the themeing, greenery, and animals blow CP's atmosmphere away. For me, the park ranks above CP, which I didn't think could happen. I had an awesome time, mainly because the park was empty both days. Having been to both BG parks and Sea World Orlando, I can now say that Busch parks are by far the best in the country.

Day 1- Nov. 2nd

Friday was crazy. We woke up at 4:30 am, drove to the airport, flew to Tampa, landed around 10:00, drove to the hotel, ate lunch, and drove to BGA. We arrived around 2:00, so we didn't have to pay for parking. We rode Montu, Skyride, Kumba, Scorpion, Gwazi, and SheiKra in about 2 hrs. Every ride was a walk-on, even the front row. Nothing better than 3 runs on SheiKra in 10 mins.

Day 2- Nov. 4th

Sunday was a little busier, but still deserted IMO. My parents and I went our seperate ways since they didn't feel like riding much on Sunday. I started with SheiKra, with the longest line of the trip, 10 min. Next I rode Kumba twice, Cheetah Chase, another spin on SheiKra, two more rides on Kumba, Skride, Montu a few times, and Gwazi (other side). I met up with my parents and saw the live animal show which was great. I went back to Montu for one last ride. I was next in line for the front row when the other train stopped on the lift. Fortunately, they fixed it in about 15min. By that time, they had to let us ride, even after closing time. Plus, due to the time change it was dark out. Front row on Montu at dark was awesome. I stopped to pick up a souvenier, and we headed back to the hotel.

Sounds like you had a great time! Glad it wasn't crowded. BGA is such an awesome park to go to. Love the picture of Montu to.

Thanks. I didn't know you could do that so easily. Then again, I never tried.

BGA is a good park (the best in Florida). As I see it, there are only two drawbacks. Number 1, there is no hyper coaster (like Goliath, Nitro, etc.). Number 2, the best coasters are very spread out so there is a lot of unnecessary walking to do. That being said, BGA is about #8 on my park list.
If you like Busch Gardens Africa, you should LOVE Busch Gardens EUROPE. Griffon is a little better than Sheikra, Alpengeist is a little better than Montu, and Apollo's Chariot/Big Bad Wolf/Loch Ness Monster is a lot better than Gwazi/Kumba/Scorpion. That last comparison was not just, but that was all I could think of.

Coaster Count (a few days ago at BGA) :
Scorpion - 0
Cheetah Chase - 1
Kumba - 2
Montu - 4
Gwazi - 2
SheiKra - 11

I have been to BGE, but not since Griffon was built. I would say that BGEs coasters are pretty even with BGAs, but BGE doesn't have a woodie and Kumba beats LNM by a long shot. On the other hand, BGE has an awesome hyper.

I love both parks. They are, IMO, the best parks in the country.

Ok, is it just me or I miss that sexy Montu Gooddness!

Great Photo and Report.

Too bad you didn't get to marathon most of the coasters, like I did when I was there.

It was about as close as it gets to a marathon. Being a single rider, I just got off coasters, walked around, and walked back on. Three rides on Kumba in six minutes was very nice.
