A work in progress, but I like where it's going. I might change the colors, but let me know what you guys think! :D
I'l make another update depending on the feedback.

I studied supports from other existing models, this is what I have so far.
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w234/Millennium-Mike/NoLimitsSimulator2007-11-2517-39-31.jpg
This part s really cool when you see the bikes screaming through it :D
The layout shown so far is great, it looks really fun. How fast is it going through that, and what is the rides top speed?
Michael
11-25-2007, 09:18 PM
^ The ride's layout is only 50% done, but so far the top speed is 48 mph. (so far both launches are of that speed). And the layout is going very slowly because I'm trying to get it as smooth as possible, currently the section shown is complete, but I'm still working on smoothing the existing track.
Thanks for the comment :D
What do you guys think about the color? Personally I think it's a bit bland, but I can easily change it.
Play around with it...the colors you used are pretty generic, maybe go for something unusual.
Michael

^I played around with the colors a bit, got a combo that looks pretty cool, plus I added some "racing stripes" along the launch and exit turn, looks pretty sweet if you ask me :p
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w234/Millennium-Mike/NoLimitsSimulator2007-11-2522-00-17.jpg
Kind of a rust colored base highlighted by silver rails and stripes, looks good to me I guess. (note a few of the temporary supports)

Stripey, yum...

I like the Contrasting cool colors of the blue trains, it looks so cool when it's moving though! :D
Looks very nice. Keep up the good work Mike.

Love the colors and first turn.
The idea of two launches doesn't seem right to me though...that is, if there even are two launches?
(so far both launches are of that speed)

You'll see why I did that when I post the final layout. The sections are meant to "boost" it back to speed. It's gonna have a racing bike theme in the end, the boost sections are basically the equivilent to "NOS" bursts, it's kinda cool I guess :D

Update:
Got much of the layout done, around 1/2 way now. Enjoy
Comments and/or critcism is always welcome and greatly appreciated :D

Very nice layout, and the two launches actually work well here.
Can't wait to see the completed trackwork.

^ Thanks :D Hopefully the layout will be done soon, so I can get started on all of those funky supports :p
Again, thanks for the comment!
EDIT: Also on a side note, I plan to have a total of three launches, the last being the fastest
This is an amazing layout...don't half *** the rest of it (I know you won't!) because this is probably the best Motorbike layout I've seen. You should send it into Vekoma :p
I'm not sure about those 90 degree banked turns, especially the one in the last picture. Other than that, nice job. I wish Pony Express were as long as this.

Sorry for the absense, I'm buisy with finals :(
I've gotten really far on this, and I really am starting to like it. Layout's done, and I'm smoothing it out right now. Later tonight, expect a music video! With on and offride footage :D
EDIT: Nevermind, my window's movie-maker just crapped out, so I won't have a POV...damn

Damn, that was awesome! I wish this was going into Knott's instead of Pony Express...amazing pacing, this is some of your best work Mike!

You should name the coaster "Turbo Max"

_____________
Good news, I finished the trackwork and smoothening. So all that is left are the supports. (Which I will simplify a bit to save time for your sake ;)).
So here's what we have so far:

Here is the layout (don't mind the temporary supports)
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w234/Millennium-Mike/mb2.png
It's a tangled mess :p

Great job Mike! Very, very nice job on this ride. The layout is a spectacular one. I was also wondering, how many G's does it pull on the turn after the launch and how much banking do you have on that turn? I don't see anything wrong with the turn at all but I am just a tad bit curious on the G's.

Right now it maintains a relativley constant force of around 3 to 3.5 g's, and gradually goes down to 1.5 g's over the crest of the turn.
Thanks for the comment

Not bad, not bad at all. I'd ride it over and over again. I actually like this layout alot better than the layout of the original Vekoma Motorbike coaster.

Can we see some overviews of it from different angles?

I need two testers. First two PM's get the position.
We'll talk the details. It'll be tommorow though.
^ Haha, I actually took direct inspiration from Maverick, in a couple turns. I thought it worked pretty well, lol
Thankyou so much for the comments guys :)

I liked it. :) It was incredibly smooth, had some good forces, and I think the spiral turns were done really well, something I've never been able to be good at, lol. :) However, it was just a tad long. I also think the second launch didn't do much. The speed of the train just increased 3 mph. Also, I know it's temporary, but one of the supports was in the way of the track. ;)
I really did enjoy it though. :) Props for the awesome heartlining and pacing. :)

Incredible! The ride was smooth, remained entirely in Green G's (NoLimits 1.7 Mac) and was non-stop action. A few (forewarned of) support collisions to fix, and a curved brake run that could be made more realistic, but overall an excellent creation!
Great job Michael!
Michael

Thankyou guys so much for testing and the reviews. I really appreciate it! :)
TSR: Yeah, the second launch is mostly to keep it going, but I know it doesn't do much :p And the support will be moved, in fact they all will, because I've only started a few of the actual supports, lol
Apsterling: The brakerun is curved to keep it nice and smooth, and because I took a little inspiration from these :p:

I decided to get some better overview shots, with some of the new supportwork. I'm about 30% done with supports, so this is rolling along quite nicely.

Whoa, that coaster gives me goose-bumps. Best coaster I've seen to date. It's so smooth, it flows, and it's not 20 seconds long! The layout is awesome and I'm glad you have made it long. I'm definitely looking forward to this download!!
I also can't wait until the next coaster that you have hidden up your sleeve.
Once again, great job! Yeeehaw!

I'l get some screens tommorow, but I've done alot of smoothening to get this as perfect as possible.
Good news is that I have another video on youtube. It includes a new front POV at track level and a rear POV. Comments and cricisms are more than welcome! :cool1:

Those turns are just too steep (the ones with headchoppers).
If the train enters that big turn with no lats, I would put it at ~50-60 degrees, not like 80.
Also, the headchoppers are just too close to the track. Does it pass the tunnel test?
Otherwise, at least the supports look fine. IMO, this coaster is just WAY too long for its type. OR, you could have added very original elements that would make me want to download it. Just my 2 cents.

Whoooaaa there :p
I'm not intending this to be realistic. In fact no motor-bike would ever be this long, it's outrageous! So I don't care how close the headchoppers get.
As for the banking, I might bank it a little less, but not 50 degrees. I meant for a low to the ground, high banked section there. And it's not 80 degrees, more like 65. :wink2:
IntaminFan007
03-01-2008, 11:31 PM
Well, test it at 50 degrees, see if there are any lats.
Did you click on the vertice to see how steep it is?
Edit: It looks more like 70-75 to me now.
I'm not intending this to be realistic.
Well, it looks realistic to me

Alright, I've done some support work, sorry for letting this project go idle. Don't worry, I wouldn't let this ride die, it's certainly my favorite project I've worked on.
I should have an update sometime today or tommorow, just depends on how buisy I'll be. I've also been a little skeptical on the color scheme. I know it's unique, but it's a bit bland in my opinion. I might play around with it later and see what you guys think.
^ oh, and I decreased the banking a bit there ;)
Michael
05-26-2008, 12:27 PM
Alright, on the top I have the current color scheme, the bottom is a new one I came up with, which in some ways I like better, in others I don't.
What do you guys think?
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w234/Millennium-Mike/color.png
I prefer the original. I've grown to really love that more faded red you've used.
rollercoasterfreak91
05-26-2008, 03:02 PM
I prefer the track of the new one, and the supports of the old one. The faded red makes it look to me like the red actually faded, but I love the off white supports.

Alright, I'm sticking with the original. I'll have an update tommorow, maybe.

Well, bad news. Bad bad news. Any of my coasters before the 1.7 update were somehow erased after my pc crashed a couple months ago, so I've recently had to start new projects instead. Sorry guys, unless it's somehow in the depths of my hard drive. :(
My greatest No Limits project ever is lost... thanks to Windows Vista. Remind me to contact Mac sometime.
