Welcome to the first (unless my other PTR is moved into this thread) of many Disneyland Resort updates! Brought to you by, who else? Me!

Lets get started, shall we?
http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/dlr_update_11_26_07/dlr_update%20063%20(Small).jpg
Some workers were replacing concrete tiles in the main plaza.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/dlr_update_11_26_07/dlr_update%20065%20(Small).jpg
I hit up DCA first, and this is what it looked like at opening. Heck. Yes.

With dreams of getting marathon action on California Screamin' I was dismayed - but not surprised at the sight of this..

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/dlr_update_11_26_07/dlr_update%20067%20(Small).jpg
What a shock, closed again!

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/dlr_update_11_26_07/dlr_update%20070%20(Small).jpg
I ran over to MalliB00mer, it was a walk on. Got four rides, this ride offers great views.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/dlr_update_11_26_07/dlr_update%20066%20(Small).jpg
Toy Story Mania is looking great! The smell of paint was in the air as I walked by.

I don't have any pictures but I was able to score five rides on Mullholland Madness, and three rides on Tower of Terror in less than an hour. Life is gooood.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/dlr_update_11_26_07/dlr_update%20001%20(Small).jpg
Welcome to Disneyland!

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/dlr_update_11_26_07/dlr_update%20004%20(Small).jpg
The Castle looks a-mazing.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/dlr_update_11_26_07/dlr_update%20018%20(Small).jpg
It's a Small World is decked out for Christmas.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/dlr_update_11_26_07/dlr_update%20019%20(Small).jpg
I hit up Roger Rabbit's CarToon Spin.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/dlr_update_11_26_07/dlr_update%20024%20(Small).jpg
I love this ride.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/dlr_update_11_26_07/dlr_update%20057%20(Small).jpg
To close this update a slightly blurry picture of Sleeping Beauty's Castle at night.

Thanks for reading!

WOW , the castle looks absolutely beautiful! Nice update.

Jake
11-28-2007, 10:23 AM
Thanks guys.

^^ Yes, its coming along quite nicely. I know you can't tell from the picture, but it looks like they're moving on to some of the finishing touches of the attraction!

^ It does look absolutely beautiful, especially while the fireworks are going off.

That last picture is awesome. The castle looks AMAZING lit up at night! Toy Story also looks like it's coming along nicely. Nice update!

Thanks :).

I'll be going again on Monday, don't expect a full on PTR (I'll be with some General Public friends), but I will update you on this PeopleMover rumor that's floating around!

That last picture is sick. Is the castle decorated this way every year?

Brandon

That last picture is sick. Is the castle decorated this way every year?

No, this was the first year that Disney put the lighting nets on the castle to achieve the winter ice and icesickle look. This was the first year WDWR's Magic Kingdom got this type of holiday decoration as well.

Very nice update Jake. I cant wait to see your upcoming update on Monday. It should be intresting if these construction walls that have been "showing up every so often" are there again on Monday. If you want to attempt to get some good shots of the tunnel that these construction walls have been showing up, just let me know. I'll help you find good positions. :)

Also, you might want to get a few shots of Toy Story Mania. The tarps are starting to come down finally. :D

Jake
12-14-2007, 02:04 AM
Thanks guys.

I'll see what I can do, I'll get my nerd on and check out the track from Space Mountain's queue. My GP friend is bound to want to ride it... ugh.

Toy Story Mania will most definitely be updated :).

Anything else?

Jake

I'll be taking a trip to the park on Thursday.

I probably wont take too many pictures, but we'll see.

^ ...Sure it does. ;)

Welcome to my first Disneyland update of the new year!

We start our visit in the Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20002%20(Small).jpg
This will be my last day to ride the Haunted Mansion Holiday until next year.. :(

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20006%20(Small).jpg
The holiday decorations will start to come down after Sunday.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20007%20(Small).jpg
The River Belle Terrace is now open.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20020%20(Small).jpg
You'll see an up close and personal view of Pirates Lair later on!

On to California Adventure!

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20023%20(Small).jpg
The touch screens are now gone, and you have to order the old fashioned way again.. (Taste Pilots Grill)

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20025%20(Small).jpg
Progress continues on the new section for the Grand Californian hotel

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20032%20(Small).jpg
That's right! California Screamin' is FINALLY open.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20037%20(Small).jpg
A little look behind the magic walls of Toy Story Mania.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20038%20(Small).jpg
This attraction is looking GREAT!

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20049%20(Small).jpg
It's been ages since they've run the purple train!

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20052%20(Small).jpg
One last look at Toy Story Mania.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20055%20(Small).jpg
California Screamin' was running as good as it usually does.. in other words, it was just fine.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20066%20(Small).jpg
A new facade for the Hollywood Pictures Backlot.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20078%20(Small).jpg
Back to Disneyland!

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20086%20(Small).jpg
Star Tours managed to pull in a one hour line all day, which in my mind is NUTS.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20088%20(Small).jpg
A Canadian marching band played at the start of the parade.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20092%20(Small).jpg
The start of the parade.

While I have plenty of parade pictures, I'll just show a couple more..

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20117%20(Small).jpg
Scary Snowmen.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20165%20(Small).jpg
Santa closes the parade.. woo.

I finally decided to check out "Pirates Lair" on the formerly Tom Sawyers Island. I had some doubts going into it, but I was very impressed by what I saw! The caves were extremely well done, and there was plenty in there to keep everyone entertained. I saw "Captain Jack Sparrow" and I have to say the actor did an AMAZING job.

Some pictures..

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20191%20(Small).jpg
A huge swinging bridge.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20190%20(Small).jpg
Some more of the island.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20193%20(Small).jpg
Seem familiar?

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/update/dlr_update_1_3_08%20204%20(Small).jpg
And to close this update, a shot of Fantasmic!

Thanks for reading!

Thanks, and your probably right.

I'll be going (again!) on Friday! So expect yet another update from me this weekend.

ArrowOwnzU
01-09-2008, 04:00 PM
Heh, I'll be there on Friday as well. So expect an update from me as well. You've got some competition Jake.

Jake
01-09-2008, 07:43 PM
A little competition never hurt anybody, right? ;)

I'll be wearing my maverick sweatshirt, have blonde hair and will look nerdy! If you see me, come say hi, cause I'll probably be alone.

ArrowOwnzU
01-10-2008, 04:24 AM
Yeah that's pretty nerdy. I'll probably be wearing something normal, but at least you don't have some hanson hair like JD71. But yeah, If I see you I'll make fun of you or something.

Jake
01-10-2008, 11:59 AM
^ Sounds good, I can't wait ;).

Yeah, my hair doesn't go past my neck :p.

Jake
01-18-2008, 03:12 PM
Excuse the double post...

I'm going again tonight for a little while, so.. yup.

Welcome to yet another Disneyland Resort update, from yours truly.

We start our adventures in, where else? Disney's California Adventure!

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20010%20(Small).jpg
California Screamin' was open, and it was only 12:00pm... so I suppose that they will no longer need to keep it closed until 1pm.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20009%20(Small).jpg
Toy Story Mania's Walls have been moved.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20014%20(Small).jpg
Excuse the poor quality, the zoom on my camera isn't very good.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20016%20(Small).jpg
The ride is looking fantastic.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20018%20(Small).jpg
Another shot

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20022%20(Small).jpg
Moving over to the other side of the construction walls.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20023%20(Small).jpg
I can't wait to ride this..

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20024%20(Small).jpg
Or at the very least for these darn walls to be taken down.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20029%20(Small).jpg
The crane is still.. craning.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20032%20(Small).jpg
Ooo reflections!

Well that's enough of California Adventure.. time to go to the Magic Kingdom.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20046%20(Small).jpg
The lights have been taken off the castle. But the flocking remains.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20049%20(Small).jpg
Refurbishment is going on at the Mad Teacup ride.. thing.. The wonderful smell of unleaded paint was in the air!

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20063%20(Small).jpg
The Haunted Mansion.. is down.. to take away the Nightmare stuff.. :(.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20066%20(Small).jpg
I guess they were working on replacing the.. top things..

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20067%20(Small).jpg
The all new Dreams Suite is under construction as we speak.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20078%20(Small).jpg
The magic pole in Indiana Jones is back!

So I decided to check out Innoventions, because I hadn't been in there for a while.. As soon as I stepped in, I remembered why.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20090%20(Small).jpg
So boring.. nothing to do..

Basically a good amount of the building was shut off because of "Project tomorrow". So it consisted of a few things. A place where you can play some stitch video games. A big room with a guy driving around on a segway, and a miriad of body functional.. stuff.. It was all very limited, and very boring.

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20107%20(Small).jpg
The outside of this building is being refurbished - but you can still shop during all of this madness!

http://www.amusementcast.com/images/disneyland/1-11-08/small/disneyland%20097%20(Small).jpg
And to close this update, Sleeping Beauty's Castle at night.

Thanks for reading!

Nice job on the PTR Jake, it looks very good. It's also good to see Screamin running at a earlier time now. Not to much longer until TSM is open.

Jake
01-18-2008, 03:32 PM
Thanks.

Yes, I'm hoping it opens up before summer.

sheikra182
01-19-2008, 03:12 PM
Well everything looks to be on schedual with the ride so you never know it may open before summer. Best part about TSM has got to be the fact that it will help decrease the lines of some rides in DCA.

Curly
01-19-2008, 04:30 PM
^I'm thinking the opposite.

With more people being brought into DCA to get on 'tEh T0Y St0Ry' ride, it'll increase the number of people in the park which I believe will make for an increase in queue times for just about every popular attraction in the park.

Dan
01-20-2008, 08:44 PM
Well everything looks to be on schedual with the ride so you never know it may open before summer. Best part about TSM has got to be the fact that it will help decrease the lines of some rides in DCA.If you've ever been to a ride opening, you would know that this, while in theory plausible, just isn't correct. As Carlos said, it just draws more people into the park. Nobody's going to spend an entire day in Toy Story Mania.

Jake
02-28-2008, 10:59 PM
So it's been over a month, but I'm going to Disneyland tomorrow! Expect an update and the like.

Jake
03-06-2008, 03:25 PM
My trip report should be up by tomorrow, but in the mean time I filmed the fireworks on the night I was there. Waited an hour and a half for the spot as well..

So you can either check out the two part youtube version here (http://youtube.com/watch?v=6uIeNDosajI) and here (http://youtube.com/watch?v=exdyH21TtgE). Or you can go here (http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/video/fireworks.zip) to download the "condensed" but higher quality version. The original file is nearly two gigs, obviously a little too big for my server.

Anyway, enjoy!

Jake
03-15-2008, 01:18 PM
So I went to Disneyland last night, but did not bring my camera. However some things I noticed..

Toy Story Mania looks completed.
The goat on Big Thunder is back.
And I could be wrong, but it appeared they were testing a new monorail. However I only got a glance.. so can anyone confirm this?

That's about it, but I had a great visit. It was good to get that Knott's "taste" out of my mouth ;).

rollercoasterfreak91
03-15-2008, 02:57 PM
If it was the red monorail you saw, then yes, there's video footage of it testing on youtube. If you saw one of the other ones, then they're new.

I'm going on Monday, expect an update of some sort.

Jake
04-03-2008, 02:12 PM
Here's my update, it's a little longer then most, enjoy.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6530%20(Small).JPG
Welcome to the Disneyland Resort… oh jeez.. it looks crowded already.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6533%20(Small).JPG
This looks.. promising.. not.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6535%20(Small).JPG
This tram is different then most at the resort.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6542%20(Small).JPG
Oh, the lines aren’t so bad at all!

We went to Indiana Jones to snag some fast passes, in order to maximize our ride time.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6546%20(Small).JPG
The dreams suite above Pirates of the Caribbean

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6575%20(Small).JPG
The first stop of the day, and my personal favorite, Haunted Mansion!

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6581%20(Small).JPG
Ah! A ghost! Oh.. wait, it’s just a flash.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6584%20(Small).JPG
One of the stretching portraits in the elevator. I bought a deck of cards where all the face cards were one of the four portraits! And for only five dollars! Gee.. I’m a sucker.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6589%20(Small).JPG
One of the infamous bat chain knobs. They look pretty cool, actually!

After our ride on the Haunted Mansion we strolled over to the Pirates of the Caribbean. We then got a fastpass for Splash Mountain.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6600%20(Small).JPG
One of several “Mountains” to be found on the resort, a fantastic log flume.

After we got a couple of fastpasses we went to use our passes for Indiana Jones. Sadly, I didn’t take any pictures of our favorite adventurer, so on to the Jungle Cruise to burn some time while waiting to ride Splash Mountain!

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6611%20(Small).JPG
All bow to the ancient elephant god!

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6613%20(Small).JPG
This is new since the last time I rode, a cool sequence actually. There is an explosion over near the cans of gasoline, followed by a cheesy Cast Member line.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6617%20(Small).JPG
It’s the backside of water!

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6618%20(Small).JPG
A one of a kind, elephant.. except.. not.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6630%20(Small).JPG
Animal activists complained due to the terrible ear wiggling disease that has infected all the Hippos!

Well after a ride on Splash Mountain (No photos as I had my camera in the backpack to keep it dry. So over to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad we go!

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6646%20(Small).JPG
Big Thunder signage.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6655%20(Small).JPG
The finale here used to be much cooler, if I remember correctly.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6656%20(Small).JPG
The mountain of Big Thunder.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6661%20(Small).JPG
Big Thunder has a great train, very well themed.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6675%20(Small).JPG
The second lifthill of the ride, the ride utilizes three lift hills for multiple show sequences I believe. Someone correct me if I am mistaken.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6680%20(Small).JPG
There is some decent airtime on this ride. Well, for a Disney attraction at least! ;)

After our spin on Big Thunder we decided to go ride the Matterhorn, in order to finish up our rounds of the park!

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6692%20(Small).JPG
My favorite mountain at the park, the Matterhorn!

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6699%20(Small).JPG
This paint scheme seems so.. 1970 to me.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6716%20(Small).JPG
“May the power of Christ compel you!” (He’s exorcizing the Arrow from this attraction)

After we rode the Matterhorn, it was time to head over to Disneyland’s younger sibling that no one likes, California Adventure! Yay!

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6743%20(Small).JPG
They were running at max capacity over at California Screamin’. This train is about to launch.

Now on to the Toy Story Mania update portion of this trip report.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6748%20(Small).JPG
The building is looking great!

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6751%20(Small).JPG
Another look.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6752%20(Small).JPG
There will be a gift shop at the exit of this attraction.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6753%20(Small).JPG
The logo for this attraction, a little small, but it gets the point across, right?

At this point we had gotten a fastpass for California Screamin’ and we’re off to tour the rest of the park.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/tpr_ptr/IMG_6772%20(Small).JPG
This ride is great, but lacks in popularity.

We walked to Mullholland Madness and hopped into the twenty minutes queue.

An interesting map attached to the side of the ride.

After we took a spin on California Screamin’ (we saw the Toy Story Mania vehicles testing) we headed back to Disneyland. After spending an hour trying to find something to eat on main street (due to indecision on my brothers and I’s part) we met up with the rest of our family at Indiana Jones.

After a few more re-rides and a cancellation of the fireworks it was just about time to head home.

Main Street all lit up pretty :D.

And that was our day at the Disneyland Resort! I had a lot of fun, as usual and hope to go back soon. Thanks for reading!

I'll be going to Disneyland tomorrow, and a week from tomorrow. I'll finally get to ride Toy Story Mania, and check out the Indiana Jones show. Score! :)

So, for those curious I posted my Toy Story Mania review right here. (http://www.coasterdom.com)

And I caught a bit of the Indiana Jones show, and must say it wasn't that great. No sound effects, very cheesy dialogue, although the stunts were pretty well executed.

I'll be there tomorrow and hopefully take more pictures.

I'm sorry, but, isnt that spam if you just post a link?

It would be nice if you posted a little more here instead of a link to Coasterdom, and a two sentence review of the Indy stunt show. Coasterdom ad's here: http://www.rcprocommunity.com/showthread.php?t=441

Call it what you will, I didn't have many pictures of the ride to post. So, I don't know what you wanted to see. Either way expect pictures tomorrow. I'm getting on the tram now.

We then got a fastpass for Splash Mountain.

Why? If memory serves me right, Splash mountain is the only ride in Disneyland[NOT CA] that still has a single rider line...

Jake
08-26-2008, 01:02 PM
Because some people like to ride with their group. Besides the fastpss line moves quicker than the single rider line anyway. I'm getting the pictures ready for uploading now, and I should have the trip report/update up tonight, if not earlier. :)

As I said, here is my trip report from Monday, enjoy :).

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 016 (Small).jpg
It's the year...years.. of a million dreams at the Disneyland Resort. Since obviously Disney couldn't come up with a more clever advertising scheme. Sad.

So we started off our day at Disney's California Adventure park, as we didn't get to the resort until ten.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 020 (Small).jpg
Paradise Pier, chilling.

Our first stop (Our refers to my Sister and I, always a pet peeve of mine when people say "we" but don't specify who that is exactly.) was Toy Story Mania of course!

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 027 (Small).jpg
Taken while in line for Toy Story Mania.

The Toy Story Mania/Midway Mania/Whatever the official name is logo.

Only a forty minute wait for the ride, always worth it.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 041 (Small).jpg
This is where the cars go to enter the actual show building.

Always a great ride, I got a score of around 170,000. I still haven't broken the 200,000 barrier, but I'm getting there.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 042 (Small).jpg
Next up was California Screamin' with a twenty minute wait, although the digital clock never really turns out in the pictures..

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 044 (Small).jpg
Excuse the blur, but who would like to guess what this "seat" is?

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 056 (Small).jpg
So close to being perfect.. ah well.

One of the new "restaurants" on the pier.

Looking back at the now Toy Story Mania dominated Paradise Pier.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 065 (Small).jpg
I ate lunch here, it's not that expensive and the food is pretty darn good!

On our way out of the park, after riding Toy Story Mania, Tower of Terror and California Screamin' we bumped into a family of four that had been awarded Dream Fastpasses earlier in the day. They had two young kids, and said they couldn't use the rest of the tabs on the pass, so they gave them to us! So this is what we got...

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 072 (Small).jpg
Booyah!

We decided to use the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad fastpass first, and then we headed over to..

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 073 (Small).jpg
Splash Mountain! Skipping a sixty minute wait, and instead waiting about five minutes. I can dig it.

We didn't get too wet, not complaints there. Although it was a bit warm out, that heavily chlorinated water feels really gross.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 074 (Small).jpg
Next up, the Haunted Mansion, which goes down for the Holiday overlay very soon.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 080 (Small).jpg
Then we hit up Pirates of the Caribbean. Only a fifteen minute wait, as usual. This picture looks "up" the stairs that lead to the Disneyland Dreams Suite.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 081 (Small).jpg
Boat number one! I thought this was picture worthy, as there are over fifty boats in all - I believe.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 084 (Small).jpg
Indiana Jones was having some major technical difficulties earlier in the day, so we had to save that tab for later. Lame.

We had a tab for Roger Rabbit as well, so we went over to check it out. Sadly, when we got there it was broken down as well. Not to be discouraged by this, my brother and I (Batman: The Member) went back to California Adventure so that he could get on Toy Story Mania.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 086 (Small).jpg
Back again!

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 090 (Small).jpg
Getting there, although the lighting isn't that nice.

A much shorter wait this time, only twenty minutes! We rode twice, once in the regular line, and once using the single rider line. They led to about the same wait, although less walking was involved in the single rider line.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 093 (Small).jpg
After Toy Story Mania twice, and California Screamin' once (We used our tab for that ride, although that was the only one we used in California Adventure.)

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 100 (Small).jpg
The family had used this tab, so no Soarin' today! The wait wasn't all that long, but we were late for dinner as it is.

http://www.amusementcast.com/users/jake/images/disneyland_resort/ptr_august_25th/resized/disneyland_8_25_08 101 (Small).jpg
Back in Disneyland, now to the Mexican food place.. I can't recall the name.

I don't take many night pictures, but here is what happened the rest of the evening.

After dinner I went to the Haunted Mansion once again, and than to use my Indiana Jones fastpass. Once I got off, I found a voicemail from ArrowOwnzYou, saying that he had just gotten on the tram. So we met up on mainstreet and looked around the park for something without a long line.

Eventually we ended up back at the Haunted Mansion, and after riding went over to the Monorail, as I had seen the blue one running that day.

Sadly, when it pulled in we saw that they were not loading guests. However, here are some blurry, or grainy, or both pictures. Deal with it.

Great update! I really enjoyed reading it and got a few laughs out of some of the captions, too! :p Sucks to hear about Indy and Roger Rabbit being down earlier in the day, but at least Indy was open later! Did you ride Space Mountain at all? I saw you had a tab for it on the Dream Fastpass.

Thank for the comments guys, I appreciate it :).

I didn't get a chance to ride Space Mountain, as I didn't make it to tomorrowland until after Shaun showed up. He didn't have a fastpass of course, so we decided to skip it. No worries though, Soace Mountain isn't a must ride for me anyway.

Monorail Blue can go to hell, I was so disappointed. If they're gonna test it during the day that's fine, but when you actually can use a Mark VII why not run one that can take guests? *cough*red*/cough*

I was at the park yesterday and posted an update on Coasterdom. Here are a few pictures I took while I was there.. nothing too fantastic or exciting, I'm afraid.

It's gotten to the point for me that I need to look for different lighting as opposed to angles. It seems I've gotten nearly every shot there is to get at these parks!

Nice photos Jake, I checked out your update at Coasterdom and this one caught my attention.

These types of walls were up all over the park, summer is certainly over. This particular wall encircled many of the PeopleMover supports - perhaps these walls have to do with more than simple “beautification”?
I will be following this little "beautification" project, as it pertains somewhat to the PeopleMover. Jake, if possible, do you think you can get me photos of these walls if anything changes? Please and thank you :).

Also, I was unaware of California Screamin' going down for a queue and station retheming. It seemed likely to happen but I had no idea that they would be doing it this soon. Shows how much I am out of the DLR loop. Hopefully, they can add some theme to Screamin's train roundhouse as well as add some new foliage, in the east helix, if they haven't already. The sand and dead foliage really looks drab and unappealing...

Jake
09-08-2008, 01:30 AM
That's alright, a GP friend told me about the California Screamin' retheme! So we're both as out of the loop I suppose.

As far as the walls are concerned, I'll do my best if I'm there in the near future. I have a friend going in early October - and I can have him take a couple pictures if I can't get there before that.

Thanks for the comments guys, it's always appreciated.
