Hello it's me again (adamcolvin)
Here's all the pictures from Springbank Park:eek:
It's going to be semi-realistic. Why Semi-realistic? Because all it will feature is rolller coasters! There will be a small portion of flat rides. It's a 190x190 park and my friend and I will be working on it.
Here's the entrance! I hope you enjoy the start of a new beginning!

Here's the back of the entrance:

Standing 295 feet above the ground, blasting 106 mph, this is Springbank Parks' First and Tallest coaster! THIS..IS...CALIBER!!!
Situated on the Midway Strip, you'll have to walk across a small bridge to get to this starting platform:

Are you ready to blast 295 feet upwards then spiraling on your way back down?

And here's Calibers' on-ride photo booth:

Here's the brand new, Sky Walker!
http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/6165/scr10te9.png
Alright, I decided to show an overview of what I got so far. It isn't much (I'm a slow park builder) but It'll do. If you look closely...you might see that Green Coaster...oh yeah, it's high! My face glimoured when I saw this Beast. I hope you'll like it when she's done!

I really do not like haveing two coasters of almost the same color in the same park. That is why I do not like Farenheight being in Hersheypark (because of Storm Runner and its colors)
For Caliber, I would have added some roofs on the switchbacks.
Flatrides?
Otherwise, great!

Intamin, read that part, and you'll see why there's no flats. There will be some added later, and make up a small portion of the park, but that's it. Also, they're not the same colours. The only similarities are the blue and white. There might be more of these colours. Also, what are the switchbacks?
Thanks!

Switchbacks are where the queue line goes back and forth.

I think it looks great. Are you ever going to change the trains on Caliber though?

Alright, in this new screen, I've added A new sign to the named area of Thrillville! changed the colour of Midway Plazas' patio floor, added Enterprise! and added tents to the switchbacks of Sky Walker, and changed the colour of Sky Walker's queue line.
Please enjoy this little update as I'm just completing the new coaster for an update tomorrow!

I'm sorry to be harsh...but I don't like Caliber at all.
It'd be ten times better if you just changed the train type, turned the two airtime hills into one stretched out one, and made the brakes longer.
Other then that major setback, the park is great.

^I wanted to add some spice to the meal by adding the stand-up trains and two airtime hills. I don't want a straight braking system after the huge top-hat. I only wished that I've made the brake run a bit more longer.
Thanks anways!
Introducing, the tallest, the fastest, the most insane sit-down roller coaster on the planet, Ladies and Gentleman...Here....is....ZOLTAN
This furious beast stands at an outstanding 252 feet with a whooping 232 ft drop. Straight down with a record breaking 90mph top speed! With a total ride length of 7 556 feet, it reaches a duration time of 1 minute and 57 seconds!!!!! Total Airtime is 14.07 seconds. This stomach twisting coaster is located at the very corner of the park in the 'Thrillville' section.

I love the turn around drop, it looks intense i don't like though the tower support on the second hill it looks odd next to all of the box supports you have.
Comet
10-10-2007, 03:25 PM
Ughhh, I hate how the angle of the lift and first drop are the same but I guess it's necessary.
I love the over banked turn over the station though.
And, uhhh...what's the year?

What do you mean about the lift hill?
Comet
10-11-2007, 10:16 PM
I mean that the lift and drop are at the same angle...you know how Millennium Force's lift and drop are both at different angles?
It's something I don't like about the game, so there's nothing you can do...
Whisper

Ok, that's what I thought. Yeah, that's why I have tried to get myself more into NL.
Also, how would you like me to fix the support on the second picture? Do you want me to add another wooden support structure like the rest?
Oh and Thanks all!

Looks nice adam! Definitely a great project you have. Just switch that support on the second tower to a box support. Also maybe adding some coverings over some spots to the queue of that coaster to will spruce it up. Also I'm not a big fan of WingWalker maybe make the layout longer will make it better and more realistic i guess in a sense. I wish you put flat rides in because I want to see what you can do with custom ones since your coasters are superb but thats your decision. Otherwise keep up the good work.
Whisper
10-27-2007, 07:34 PM
^Alright, I've replaced that odd looking support. I didn't want to add coverings on this one because I wanted the guess to feel the surroundings (coaster flying above, surrounded by beautiful scenery). It's actually Sky Walker, and not Wing Walker lol. BUt all I did was look at X- Coaster here (http://www.rcdb.com/ig3312.htm) and I didn't want to extend the coaster. I've also added a flat ride as you can see in the update previous to this one.
Thanks!
There has been, steel coasters everywhere! Caliber, Sky Walker, Zoltan, and Static. But are you ready for a new one? Well, we're not! It's time for a change. It's time for a classic. It's time for a wooden! Building has just begun and the plans for this beast is intense. It has more twists and turns than imaginable! Hold on to your horses, we're going for a great ride!

Not one, not two, not even three, BUT FOUR coasters have created a new skyline to Springbank Park. As I try to glance at the skyline I noticed these types:
A coaster with two loops, a dueling coaster that looks like a coaster from a park in SFGAdv, but I'm not too positive on that one, it seems like there's a few differences, there is also a twisted flying one that is it's own in the world, possibly in a new section of the park, and there's this huge one, that I can't really tell. Wow, I really like this one! However, I understand what you mean, but I'm not so sure about having the exit where it is. I thought (until I looked more closely at the "No entry" that was the entrance, cause it does look like an entrance. Also, BaR:TC had 5-car trains (then eventually 4-car). But it's your park. :)
BTW, yeah, I really like your midway games too!
^I agree, I thought it was the entrance until I read your post. Whisper, you could just put an "exit" sign over the exit, so that it is easier to tell that it is the exit.
I really like the station building! It just looks amazing. I think I like it because it seems really simple, but it has a lot of little details.
The coasters themselves and the buildings are great, I'm just not a huge fan of the checkerboard paths. But I don't know if it's the checkers or their apparently akward size that I have a problem with. Seeing as how I'm the only one that's said anything about that though, I guess it's just me that's weird. . . probably. . . .

The layout on this ride is top notch. I'm really liking the effect with it interacting over the water and transitioning into the wooded areas, this is really good stuff :) I dissagree about the colors though, I think they work well with the green and blue trains on the ride. No, dive machine is straight at the top, put a small turn and then the drop.
Why? Can't he do something unique? I mean, the curve on a Dive machine isn't really that necessary

No, dive machine is straight at the top, put a small turn and then the drop.
Just because no real dive machine has a straight drop doesn't mean he shouldn't...
^Also, Oblivion does have a turn... ;)
I think it does look a little funny however...possibly shorten the top a little bit so it's not a long flat section? Other than that, looks really good.

While I really do think this park is pretty impressive, I think that the lack of atmosphere brings the overall quality down a notch. I mean, you've got some amazing coaster designs and some very well crafted station buildings and queue lines, but that seems to be the entire park. No dark rides, not many flats, very few gift shops, restaurants, game stands, etc. At this point, I almost think something like a Sally Dark Ride or a log flume would be much better than a coaster (as good as your coasters seem to turn out). I don't know, just my opinion. Everything looks really nice though.
I agree with zburns on that the park could use some rides other than coasters. The volume of coasters in what you have now is just unnatural. Unless you're going for the Cedar Fair style which means keep building coasters, I suggest adding something else. ;)

About the Dive Machine, I might fix the layout so it does have a turn before the drop. It does look weird.
Thanks all!
I've got a big question to ask you. This is relating to my park layout. Is it good? Or should I redesign the park layout?
I wouldn't mind doing that, if the majority or you say yes.
Thanks!!

Maybe some hills because it looks flat. But dont redo everything.
rollercoasterfreak91
01-12-2008, 09:58 PM
I really like it, I just think that the corner with no rides in it should have a big hill with rides built on it. Don't build a bunch of cheesy looking little hills, but maybe a mountain or something. It's a lot like Sfmm, with the focus on the coasters, but it needs a mountain range or canyon or something.

^Thanks for the suggestions from both!
Well, some dipstick engineer ruined the track layout and screwed everything up. So we fired him and got the best in the business! Springbank Park took extra time just to fix the mistakes. Here's what we have so far:

Hello, Springbank Park wants to inform everyone that the new coaster is almost done! It will be released in a few days, so please, keep patient. On the other hand, we've built a brand new Arcade, right SMACK, along the Midway. It's HUGE!!! The building contains Bumper Cars, Games, Go Cart Track, Food Court, and a BINGO lounge. Don't worry kids, your time will be soon! Here's what the building looks like:
First Entrance:
http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/7816/scr1kj4.jpg
Second Entrance:
http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/2245/scr2pz7.jpg
This also takes us into a new step of Theme Park Design. This building uses 75% less electricity. Why? Because the sunlight from the windows gives this building most of its light. Not only do we use sunlight, but we use power collected from the solar power windows to generate electricity. Springbank Park will continually be making this the most environmental amusement park out there!
Enjoy!!

I really like the station other then the abstract themeing covering it. It doesn't really fit that well and makes the station have two roofs covering it. It is kind of redundant. Everything else is looking great.
Jumpman23
02-25-2008, 11:21 PM

I really like the station other then the abstract themeing covering it. It doesn't really fit that well and makes the station have two roofs covering it. It is kind of redundant.

So I am now arrogant, immature, and hypocritical?
I simply stated it looked bad--my opinion; you have your own. About that, I was just wondering if you truly thought the abstract station enhanced the screen or if you were just saying that to make your point about others being closed minded.
I see your argument as flawed because, sorry, but I really don't see Whisper starting a new trend of parkmaking in bringing back the old stations. In situations like this in which Chris really isn't dismissing the idea, rather saying it looks bad because most people have been-there-done-that when it comes to this example in the usual off-putting chris kind of way, he really isn't being not-"open." I don't know, maybe it just seems like such an easy thing to avoid it doesn't really come up anymore and I'm in new water.
To be honest, I don't really give a damn if Whisper ends up wanting to change his work--I know I personally would be reluctant to.
I'm confused by your aggressive-passive attitude.
I guess it's impolite to spend an entire post like this, so, Whisper: I think your park is pretty nice and I think it's cool that you are able to make a logo for each ride in the updates like this.

Jumpman23-- Thanks!!
chris--- the Dive Machine is a little delayed, but don't worry, it'll be back:thumbup2:
In all matter, I just thought the plain stations would look bad. I can't make the guests enter from the sides, only once place. So there's the realism out of that. Also, if you noticed, I've used stations for all my rides (mostly abstract.) I guess it's just because of the large roof, that makes it seem awkward. Here's a picture of the difference:
http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/3944/scr1nk2.png

I like the station especially the regular station instead of the abstract but maybe some realistic line spots in the station would make the track look better and not so open in there.

It looks like an awesome ride! I really like the layout. But instead of having another top hat before the loop, I think you should either do another air time hill or a zero-g roll. Can you believe it? It's been 3 months without an update! Unfortunately I cannot continue on with the rest of the park, therefore I am closing this topic.
After all that work, why would I? I'm 95% done, why quit now?
Time to show a little teaser before the full show :D

Due to error trapper, I have have to discontinue process of this park. The good thing, the only thing I really had to do was to add foliage. Here's the download:

Well, now that I can post again, just wanted to let you know it's a great park. I downloaded the first one and thought it seemed a little incomplete, lol, but now that I see this one, I love it. Everything is well themed and you have some great rides in there. Props.
