a new and ultimate flying sensation
The ergonomics of the seat, a large opening angle between the upper and lower body and a slightly curved back support, enables an optimal flying position and a perfect sight forward combined with maximum safety and comfort for the passengers.
This second generation Flying Dutchman contains the original features and design philosophies of the first generation with major improvements to the restraint system, tilting device and ride control issues including fault diagnosis.
A single coach of the Flying Dutchman consists of three main components, a chassis with wheel carriers, a tilting device and a Guest Accommodation Unit (GAU). Passengers will not be tilted backwards in the station but tilting will take place on the lift, giving the riders a spectacular view over the park. Besides this approach of guest handling and tilting during the ride, the new Stingray has some more unique features, such as a vertical lift, an outside loop, a double horizontal loop and a 180 degree roll.

Looks like it would have HORRIBLE capacity, and would you roll up the first hill to brake? If not, you'd get a famous Vekoma rough-stop.
Other than that, looks thrilling and fun, a flying coaster that takes up the amount of space that a flat ride would.

So like this: (Trombi, a flying coaster, at Särkänniemi)

This coaster looks like it uses the standard Flying Dutchman cars, but in a much shorter train. Does anyone know differently?

That lift looks really painful, IMO. Same with that drop into the station.....what were they thinking?! It looks like some 6th grader's crappy/decent design on RCT3.

To think that I was starting to believe Vekoma changed there ways with Expedition Everest. Well I guess that instead of carrying on that great design and building another good themed smooth ride, they decide to go and build this? I can't even pick out which part of the ride looks most painful. Mix between the ending and the first inversion.

^^^That ride looks the same as Tomb Raider at Canadas Wonderland. The ride has 1 car trains, 4 across.
Anyway, this ride looks like it could be fun. I'm assuming it's launched. I'm pretty much not able to feel pain on a roller coaster (exception:Psyclone), so Vekomas don't really bother me. I'd rather see this ride at KBF than Pony Express, looks like it might have the same footprint.

I'd like to interject that Disney themed that ride, not Vekoma.
I think this ride looks sweet, I'd love to get on one of these..
^Nonetheless, I've heard that the ride was quite good even without the theming. Of course, the layout would be idiotic by itself, but you catch my drift.
This looks very similar to those other Vekoma compact flying coasters, and I definitely think it has a chance at being a great ride, seeing that the restraints are comfortable and the forces aren't too great. I don't understand how you guys can deem a ride painful and crappy after taking a quick glance at rendering though... I'm just going to wait and see what actual riders have to say come opening day...

Someone thought this was launched?! Um, it's a vertical lift. So you're like....standing up, almost slipping out of your restraint?

Oops, just assumed it was launched because I didn't see the chain. Plus, I don't know of any coasters off the top of my head where the lift curves over.

*runs and starts up a vekoma dutchman on No Limits* :p
This looks incredible! A very neat idea, and a very economical way for amusement parks to bring their guests a flying experience :D

Not bad, but unfortunately it's all done with NoLimits.

I have never been on a Vekoma flyer/laydown before, so someone is going to have to clear this up. But with my B&M flying experiance (Tatsu -.-) Arn't you basicly sitting down? its not like your body is flat and streched out, more like a seat turned 90 degrees. so the lift wouldn't be that bad, more like a drop tower lift, in a totaly weird way.

Haha, wow sweet little design. Seems like a carnival ride more than an amusement park ride to me. Still no match to a real flyer
