Looks almost perfect. The land to the left of that building would look better as grass though I think. Excellent support work too.

Nice screen, Chip told me you guys were doing a solo. Can't fault anything in the screen, other than perhaps what zburns mentioned... but need to see more ;)

Wow! Even though you only have one screen, I'm really excited to see some more. This looks excellent, great appearence to the building and the facade. The coaster looks promising as well :)

Now for some more screens... ;)

Very adventurous with the colors, and it payed off nicely. As Z said, change that slope to grass and if it was me, put some shrubs on that slope.

From that picture it looks like it is going to be a good park.:)

Yeah, but there's not much to that picture. So, as long as we're predicting, it'll be a good park with not much to it? :) Just kidding, we need to see more!

I am so glad you two are working together, you both are amazing parkmakers and will create an amazing park which I can't wait to see finished. That screens is great and the right side should be fixed as already mentioned by Z. Not sure about that all red lift hill but I'll have to see the whole ride and how it goes along with the rest of the ride to see if it looks better then. I'm guessing this is like the Spanish section of the park? Keep up this great work.

WOW!
Now that's a beauty.

Only thing I don't really like is the white bricks at the bottom of the buildings. They don't seem to fit in well with the area. Maybe it's just the angle, but the ride seems awfully close to the buildings, perhaps at another angle it would look different.

Everything looks spectacular, spare the oddly placed dirt tile on the far left...though that might be part of something off the screen.

Immense screen, absolutely lush.

The best bit about it is that it looks like a real theme park.

That may sound like a weird comment, but it seems that parkmakers either do over-the-top fantasy coasters - ones which would never exist in real life, with ridiculous theming - or they do realism, where every little detail is thought out meticulously, and the theming and architecture is very neat. However, often, the whole ride area and theming look soooo perfect that it doesn't look like something that a real theme park would create - and so the edge of realism is lost. The coaster looks stunning, the buildings look like actual theme park buildings, the theming looks amazing, but is also appropriate.

This is looking every bit as good as I'd imagine :)

Wow, not gonna lie. I believe this is one of the best, if not the best RCT2 project RcPro has seen in years :)

Absolutley amazing job guys, keep up the work!

This may be the best screenshot you've seen in a while, but I think it's a bit early to judge whether or not it's the best park you've ever seen. We've only seen two small screens that seem to be of the same coaster. That said, I'm definately looking forward to this.

It has nothing to do with how long you've "been around here". I never said those shots were anything short of amazing. I merely suggested that these two screenshots don't have enough information for you to make such an absolute decision on how good the entire park is.

Thats an amazing screen. The buildings are really good but the the building all the way to the left of the screen at the bottom of the building is kinda bland and needs some more details to match with the other buildings which have a lot of great details. And I also agree about the dirt paths but that may be the smallness of the screen. Otherwise great work. And also do what Kumba said at NE about the bottom of the buildings clashing with the path.

I didn't know you could have 5 tram cars in a train....

It all looks nice, but are we ever going to get a screen of decent size?

Michael
01-10-2008, 10:12 PM
Only thing I don't like is the green on the trains, but maybe in a yellow or even silver would look good with the track colors.

Other than that, I am sarting to believe again that this is the best RCT2 project currently on the site :)

Dan
01-10-2008, 10:22 PM
This really is a great project, but I agree with Jake...we really need to see bigger completed screens to get a better feel for the park. I feel like every shot so far has been very teaser-like.

^ Perhaps the green blends in well with another area through which the train navigates.

^I was just thinking the same thing. I guess it must go with the story line some how.

The rest of the screen looks great. At first I didn't really like the red bridge for some reason but I'm getting use to it. Besides the color, the architecture and how you made the bridge is superb.

The first and third screens are really very good. I'm not much of a fan of the second one, however. Too much diagonal stuff going on there, which looks sort of unnatural in RCT. I know a lot of people will complain about the color of the invert trains. Honestly, that's one of the best realistic touches you guys have thrown in the way I see it. The mix of primary colors seems really believable, as does the multi-colored train. Nice stuff there.

Other than that, pretty much what I've come to expect from both of you guys--really damn good RCT.

as I can see, why the first line of the car (coaster) is red and the other ones green?

The textures on the tower are horrible. Break it up with another texture and color, perhaps some bricks or windows. Right now its just an eyesore.

Otherwise though, really nice. Love that clock!

Very good on the bridge.

I kinda like the diagonal work, it looks good, but I agree with Max, looks too unatural.

But I'm loving the coaster. The green looks good now, lol :p

I highly disagree. I think it looks really top notch, not too flash either. I really want to see some overviews though... *shakes fist* ;)

Yes, the screen is spectacular, but the white marble block texture in itself looks too overwhelming. It just dominates the screen and breaks up the flow, and for being such a focal point of the screen, I think it could use some work.

As I said before I would break it up with some stripes of other colors or different textures.

And BTW Mike, anything constructive criticism I voice about this project will probably be shot down by your uber-undivided support of this project, so Ill shut up now.

Spectacular work regardless, and the diagonals are nice and refreshing.

Plus did anyone spot the wooden track at the top of the screen? ;)

I believe that, as well as some Intamin track, is just being used as a prop for the lift hill catwalks.

This project looks very nice thus far, but however as already said numerous times, we really need bigger screens to offer more constructive critism than we have been giving.

...and you'll probably never say anything remotely close to criticism either. I don't care if they listen to me, because they do great work regardless, its just that no screen is perfect and this ones no different.

By the way, you guys should be aware that this is not (From what I gather) a full scale park, but simply a realistic environment with this ride in it. That explains the size of the screens, as showing too much would render downloading unnecessary... When its done this has got to be sent in for an NE design (I don't think I need to tell you that though )

Love the screen but I agree with Jman about the tower. The top is fine but I don't understand the reason for the support pieces on the bottom of the building but it does need something to break it up as a aforementioned. Also you should continue the vegetation on that sandy area part or just tidy it up a little bit because its messy. Otherwise nice screen.

First and foremost, congrats to both of you on getting the Design award. I've read a lot of the feedback on NE and agree with most of it...

I'll start with the one negative I have... the pacing of the coaster. Maybe it's me that's wrong, but in my opinion, for a park that is so realistically detailed, I don't think the pacing of the coaster is realistic at all. It looks as if the coaster would be absolutely brutal to ride; far too intense. This isn't reflected in the coaster's stats, but I don't know - the train just seems to take most elements (the loop, the turns, the batwing) a bit too fast. If the lift hill wasn't so tall, or you didn't have as big a pre-drop, then this problem could be solved.

But as I say, maybe I'm wrong; I'd be interested to read your thoughts on my thoughts! Most real inverted coasters don't SEEM to take their elements so fast. So yeh, the pacing slightly detracted from what otherwise was an awesome coaster layout. The lift hill was wonderfully dominating ; I loved that there were turns/helices where others would have just built inversions. The ride dives above and below ground nicely, and interacts well with pathways/scenery etc. Great supporting / catwalks / transfer tracks etc. So yeh, other than the pacing, the coaster scores top marks.

I feel bad criticising the coaster's pacing, cos the rest of the park is actually flawless. It's realistic and beautiful simultaneously - it just looks spectacular. There's some really clever hacks in there, and a ridiculously amazing attention to detail. I can't even begin to describe all the little great details I've found - and I'm sure I haven't spotted some that you put in! Rapids ruled, trams ruled... the invisible ride entrance/exit hacking, which I'm not going to be even bother trying to understand. Lots of original, awesome and unique ideas in the whole park.

There's just so much amazing stuff going on there - and quite frankly, too much for me to have the patience to learn. I'm a pretty patient parkbuilder, but I know however long I tried, I couldn't make anything this detailed and look this good too. Overall, I'd give the whole thing a 9/10 - maybe I'm wrong about deducting a mark for the coaster pacing, but hey, it's my opinion. It's rare these days that I'll keep a RCT2 park on my hard-drive after viewing it - but this is just too good to delete - I'll want to check it out time and time again, and it really sets a benchmark for other RCT2 designs. Definitely a keeper! Congrats once again.
