First of all, let me apologize to Goliath255 as I had no idea how similar our park names were when I chose mine :o. Sunset Heights looks like it will remain superior, so I don't think you have much to worry about :).

And now, welcome to Suncoast Heights!

INTRO: I love the idea of the time line parks, but I just don't think it'll work for this one, seeing as how I'm not starting in the 60s or anything. This park was designed to create a warm, vibrant colored atmosphere characteristic of many great amusement parks with some of my own touches to set it apart and a bit of tropical accents to top it off.

FIRST PICTURES:

The first three buildings to greet you upon entering the park. To the left is Marble Palm's Gifts which is composed of elements from many different upscale beach shops (not the tacky ones, the ones across the street with the two story windows showcasing their entire stock :)) and contains a souvenir shop, a hat stall, a t-shirt stall, and a sunglasses shop. To the right is a brightly colored building entirely of my own design which houses a burger/drinks shop, a fries shop, and a restroom as well as handles the sales of Season Passes. The rear building is a twist on a recently closed bank at Clearwater Beach (I think it was AmSouth) and contains an information kiosk.

The area immediately to the east of the last screenshot is home to several flats: Tornado, the twist on the right with apt theming; the twin Suncoast Wheels 1&2 on the left; and a spiral slide named Spiral Tower in the middle.

Immediately to the west of the first shot. is Sunliner, a corkscrew roller coaster --- the park's first --- self-produced by Suncoast Formula Inc., Suncoast Heights' owners. It entails five inversions and a first drop of 75 ft. Across the path from Sunliner is Sunliner Plaza, a resting complex with food and drink inside the building and under the gray roofs. The design was heavily influenced by our artists' visions of near-future architecture.

Full layout of Sunliner. Click to enlarge.

That's all for now. We're hoping to build in a circle around the Guest Information Center adding from three to five new attractions. The park is small right now, but, believe me, we've plenty of room to expand. This section will eventually become the entrance complex for Suncoast Formula Inc.'s flagship park.

Happy hunting,

Well, your style is certainly... different, but I look forward to this park nonetheless. :)

Your buildings are a little boxy so you need to fix that, And please don't place random scenery items in weird places cause it makes the park look bad and tacky. Also I don't like the lift hill on the coaster take away that steep section at the bottom. Everything else is ok just work on your buildings, look at NE for parks to help you with that.

I place scenery where I think places look to empty without it. I was actually thinking the same thing about some of it looking tacky, but advice like that is part of why I posted it here. I've been thinking about removing the box around the spiral slide, the Rainbow thing next to Sunliner (which I think I made more because I was bored than anything), and the palm trees next to that. The guests seem to think I have "Great scenerey!" :)

I realize some buildings need work, but do you have anything specific for me to change? It's kind of hard to not make things look "boxy" when you're building at right angles.

@I'm not sure if you meant that good or bad, but I'll accept "different". :)

Good, boxy buildings. Look at other parks for future referance. Good start there though.

Here's some moderate changes taking some of your thoughts into account:
http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/9594/scr14dq6.th.png (http://img341.imageshack.us/my.php?image=scr14dq6.png)
Updated Sunliner. In removing the steep bottom of the lift hill, I also made it taller. It's now 85ft (82ft first drop according the the stats page) and runs through its course much smoother.

I just realized how horrible of an angle that shot of Sunliner Plaza has. Here's a better one with some changes made the building itself:
http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/3685/scr15ev7.th.png (http://img255.imageshack.us/my.php?image=scr15ev7.png)

http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/7764/scr18sk0.th.png (http://img341.imageshack.us/my.php?image=scr18sk0.png)
I couldn't think of many ways to make this look less "boxy". I changed the roof around some.

I couldn't really think of anything worthwhile to do to that white building. I'm open to suggestions.

I like that last building. A few things I noticed. In the middle screen the brick walls have a line right were they increase in height. I don't know if that was supposed to happen, but if you want a consistent wall look, I would suggest changing that.

Also did you think about putting the ferris wheels next to each other. I think it would look better, you would just need to re-route the exit and entrance lines.

I'll see how the wheels look next to each other. The walls I didn't even notice until you mentioned it. I can't remember if that's because they're on different squares, or, like the other walls, they just felt like being mean to me.

I think it is from the walls being in different squares on the same edge.

Yeah, that's more likely. :)

I like the Marri Plaza (I can't read the name fully). :) I like the thing on both sides, the angled green wall thing. In that last pic, I would suggest lowering all those walls around the paths, cause they look a little intimidating and claustraphobic. I like the yellow coaster's station though. :)

The green walled building is Marble Palm's Gifts (yeah, I misspelled palm, thank you for making that apparent).

"The thing on both sides" doesn't tell me much. I'm not sure what you're talking about. If you're talking about the Sunliner Plaza with the walled paths leading into it, it's supposed to feel enclosed in that little courtyard, yet still feel like you have enough room to move (not claustrophobic). The path leading in I may lower the walls of, but only certain ones as the idea was to not let you see the plaza until you were inside it.

I mean, on top of Marble's - the angled green roof things.

And as a substitute for the high wall (to not let guests look in), you could always use trees instead.

Update 2:

Happy New Year and other formalities! :) The Entrance Complex has been completed. Here's some pictures from the rear part (the front you've already seen in on the first post):

http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/9106/scr16mh6.th.png (http://img98.imageshack.us/my.php?image=scr16mh6.png)
Two views of Murphy's Seafood Grill which you may have seen lingering in the background of some other pictures already. Here's your formal introduction. It contains an indoor counter service seafood restaurant with seating and optional outdoor seating in the adjacent courtyard which overlooks Tornado and the strip of water between them.

http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/2082/scr1kd2.png
A sky diver flat called Parasail and The park convention center(left). On the right, you can see I've lowered several walls on the Sunliner Plaza path.

http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/6476/scr2me9.png
A better view of the Convention Center and a bumper boats pool.

Now, I know what some of you must be thinking: "FX-1, you're crazy! Of what use is a Convention Center in RCT2?" And you'd be right, but here's what use it is:
http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/9452/scr4bw0.png (http://imageshack.us)
A maze, yes, a maze. The reason behind why it's a maze in a "Convention Center" is a little strange, so I won't bother explaining. But if you're desperate for a reason, well, they sell stuff at conventions, right? There's some shops in the back, if you look, and they are actually inside the building. :)

That completes the Entrance Complex. We've been busy with other things as well. The second area of the park is Redbrick Crossroads.

REDBRICK CROSSROADS:

http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/9849/scr3py2.png
You'll probably notice right away that this area isn't as large as the Entrance Complex. This is because Redbrick is a crossroads area. When complete the park will contain several of these. They're areas where more than two (usually four) larger lands meet. This aspect isn't apparent at the moment since the other lands haven't been built yet, but by the next few updates, all fours sides of Redbrick Crossroads will lead into a separate land with a different theme.

Some other angles.

That's all for now.

Build a perimeter first. Change it to make it look unique. Remember, NO BLOCKY BUILDINGS=GOOD PARK.

I really like Redbrick Crossings. :) I like the park-like theming. :) I think you should connect the exit path of Enterprise to the main plaza, in addition to the store. I really like it though!

Remember, NO BLOCKY BUILDINGS=GOOD PARK.
I'm working on that, really. I think my problem is that I don't realize how much space I need inside the building until after it's too late and I have to end up removing most of what was unique. With the new areas I'll try laying out the inside stuff better before placing any walls.

@ Storm Runner: Thanks. The exit path only goes through the general store to see if any spur-of-the-moment shoppers would buy anything getting off (sort of like how almost every Disney ride exits into some gift shop). That, and an exit path coming straight to the plaza would take away more of the already scarce empty space between the buildings and the main path which is important to the "park-like" appearance.

I say the opposite. I always build my inside, to make sure it's nice and neat. Then I see what I have to work with, what the general shape I want to be, then build it. Cause if you build the perimeter first, the shops if placed on the outside square would just delete the wall. Instead of zero clearancing the shops in, zero clearance in the walls.

Yes, but a gift shop for an Enterprise? Idk, I've never ridden one before (Only in RCT3). If you did put in that path, it would be symmetrical, which would look good. It wouldn't take away from the atmostphere. It's just my opinion though. Do what you wish. :)

It's not just for the Enterprise, it would be there either way. It's proximity just made it the perfect place (to me at least) to put the exit.

I see a lot of potential for this park. It's good that you have some custom scenery from what I can see. All you need is to fix some of the architecture on your buildings and it will be good.
