I am just curious of who likes which more. For myself, 2 because 3 fails with a lot of things and it just sucks in so many ways that I can't very well explain it. I don't know but 2 is just more manageable for me. :)

RCT2 for me as well. RCT3 just takes up so much space on your computer, and it still lags a ton. It also freezes much more frequently than RCT2 (RCT2 has only frozen on me twice, and those were because of complicated hacks). RCT2 just is a lot easier to use, and although some things are better with the Third, such as riding the rides, VIPs, smooth terrain, Idk, RCT2 is the classic game (well, technically the original is, but 2 is just an enhanced version of the 1st).

RCT3 is very good though, with water parks, zoos and animal exhibits, and all the current rides (for 2005). So I'm a fan of both. :)

But the 2nd is my favorite and I play that much more often than the 3rd.

RCT2 no question. The expansion packs and patches have made RCT3 better, but it is too cartoony for me.

Hands down RCT2. It had the classic feel of the original and the ability to create amazingly realistic parks without all the extras of RCT3. I was disappointed when I got RCT3.

RCT2. What I'd like to see is an interface where you can switch from the 3D mode of RCT3 to the 2D mode of RCT2. You could design in 2, and view it and ride it in 3.

Who voted RCT3? I'd like to hear some defense for it.

I side with RCT3.

I never had much luck with realistic parks with RCT2.

When you know how to avoid the limitations of 3 then you can make some stunning parks. I find it easier to have a 3D view of what your making and to notice something that needs more detail.

3 is nicer, mainly because the perspective in 2 was hard to deal with when theming, though I side with 3 being hard to make look incredible.

RCT2. I've never had much luck with RCT3. It's fun, and I like the fact that there are more options and more variety, but it is soo dang slow and it becomes frusterating after a while from all the lagging.

Solution? Get a fast computer. I got a gaming computer ( I saved up ok the price seems shocking to most people) and it runs freakishly fast on the most crowded parks with no AA. AA on small parks doesn't affect FPS much but on big parks and projects the lowest FPS I get with AA is around 20.:thumbup1:

I like how you can make movies and realistic ride-thrus with RCT3, to truly get a feeling of the ride and storyline.

That's why RCT3 got my vote. Before the new computer I would have chosen RCT2 though.

I just got back into coasters recently and used to be obsessed with RCT 2.

I played the demo of RCT3 when it came out, but hated it. (I didn't vote in the poll by the way since I never owned both.)

I might have to buy RCT3 since I have a mac and desperately want to build coasters on my computer again. :(

I wish they would make a RCT4 and go back to the original tycoon style.

i chose rct2, i just like it way more than the third, a few reasons is that i don't like the 3D thing in rct3, 2D ftw.
as someone said before me, rct2 is just an enhanced version of the original one, and original = nizzle shizzle

Just the way RCT3 looks makes me not want to buy it. I've seen footage of the "on ride" mode and wasn't impressed in the least (compare to No Limits, I don't even know why they bothered).

I like RCT2 for the variety of rides and attractions and the huge scenarios. I was actually disappointed in RCT2 though because it seems like they made the game play harder, even for a RCT1 player that might have been an expert at the scenarios. Moving finances, research, removing the volume button, limiting choices on cars for coasters, some of the theming was way overdone and contrasted with the "clean look" of the original RCT. It seems like they could have done so much to make the gameplay easier and they totally missed the mark. It would be awesome if they could make another expansion pack for the original RCT and just give us the rides with new scenarios.
