View Full Version : DCA Sunday 2/10
Hey I'll be at DCA on this Sunday. I'm super excited cause I haven't been there for a while. Anyone have any idea what you think the crowds will be like? Since it is a Sunday on a school night, I'd like to say the crowds would be on the lighter side. Anyone have any tips or thoughts?

The crowds will start dying down after the parade for sure, however, good luck with the crowds throughout the day. It being Sunday, the park should be considerably crowded. Just be lucky you didnt go on the 3rd. First Sunday's of the month are always jam-packed at DLR, even in the off season. The reason being most of the new Disney Pins being released on the first Sunday of each month.
Ben, are you going to Disneyland too or just DCA? If the latter, I'm sorry.

It's pretty unbelievable how many Disney fanatics there are these days

I dont know if that's sarcasm or not, however, there is a very large group of pin collectors that flock to the park the first Sunday of the month. The pathways are barely manuverable, the lines for attractions get up to a hour at times, and basicly stuff that remind you of summer crowds, toned down a little bit. Heck, theres even lines just to get into the shops that sell pins. It starts dying down in the late afternoon though. I've gone once on this day and it wasnt a very fun day, to say the least.
Basicly what I'm trying to say is, it's not a good day to go unless youre mainly going to the Resort to buy pins.
Oh, Dan, lets put it this way. Disney Pin Trading is such a success, and has such a huge fan & colector-base, that Disney makes special events just for pin collectors monthly at DLR, at the Disneyland Hotel. I believe WDWR has things similar, however I'm not 100% sure on that.
I was being serious.
Disney is like a giant cult in some ways. They've got thousands and thousands of people waiting to go each month for some collectibles. What a success that company is.
I have a tip, as well (believe it or not). Don't worry about the crowds. Disney knows how to handle them well, they're used to it. I never mind long lines at the park because they have great themes, things to look at, ect.
To be honest sometimes the lines move faster on days that or more crowded. This is because when crowds are heavy they crank the capacity up to unheard of levels. So, as Dan said, don't worry about the crowds. If you use the Fastpass system, and have a good game plan, you should be fine.

I have gone to Disney in some of the most crowded months and ridden almost everything. You need to be fasspass smart. ^ And he is right if it's crowded specially DCA cranks ride capacity up! Screamin is the best at that :w00t:
ok, cool!
I'm only going to DCA. I didn't know that pin collecting was so big...

I was there this past summer on a Pin Trading Day, and it was VERY crowded. However most of the people weren't going on rides, they were just...trading I guess you could say.

Oh, well, the crowds shouldnt be a problem for you then, espically if you utilize the Fastpass system as Jake mentioned. If you plan on spending the whole day in DCA, you should be able to get on everything you want to get on, including Soarin' Over California.
