As of right now, we are back online running on an updated operating system as well as PHP5/MySQL5 for those that know what that is. You'd think that's good news, however as you may have noticed, it caused a few problems.

Our provider, AngelNetworkz, decided to go ahead and upgrade all of these things without prior communication with all of their customers, us included. So when the site went down, we were clueless for more than 48 hours as to why.

This is not the first time that our provider has let us down. Due to consistent network outages, slow support response time, limited/no communication with customers, and horrible support service -- RCPro will be leaving our provider within the next 30 days and getting a server with a more established/experienced/reliable company that we can rely on. I would recommend that everyone looking for hosting of any kind stay away from AngelNetworkz.

Now as to the site itself, you may have noticed that the forums are now back on. During the upgrade some of the databases were corrupted in transition from MySQL4 to 5. I've managed to get that issue resolved, and I expect no more problems from the forums. An upgrade to our forum software will come soon as well, resulting in approx an hour downtime. More info on that to come soon.

In addition to the issues with the forums, our news script is no longer functional so industry news will not be updated for the time being. We are looking into a new system that will allow us more features in news distribution such as RSS feeds. More information on that to come soon.

As the week progresses, we will be working to get all of the small bugs caused by this upgrade resolved, so should you come across an error, please be sure to post it in this forum so that we can get to fixing it.

Thank you for understanding.

That sucks, and on a weekend? What where they thinking!?!? Oh well.

At least we didn't lose all of our information here from the forums, thank god!

Thanks Steve, Ryan, and the rest of the staff who worked on this!

EDIT: It's funny because I was just about to post an Elder Island update, but then I saw the site was down, lol.

Yeah about every five minutes a screen comes up telling me I dont have permission to view the forums or the website, but it goes away after about 30 seconds.

It's good to see the forums back up. I thought my computer had issues with connection at first.

Ouch. This is, what... the 5th time we've had to move to a new web host within the past few years?

Hopefully we'll be moved to a more reliable provider this time around.

Still working that issue, think I know why that's happening. Can you give me a screenshot of the error you're recieving and what you're trying to access when you get it?

I'm curious is anyone having any problems with the webmail service in relation to incoming/outgoing messages? I just managed to resolve the issues with our staff account, just wondering if there are any problems with user accounts.

//ISSUE RESOLVED// I'm also aware that there is a registration issue and that is being worked on as well. If there are any visitors that would like more information on when the script is functional, please email me at steve@rollercoasterpro.com.//ISSUE RESOLVED//

Wait-the site went down? OMG I am clueless. That's probably why I couldn't get in here all last week. And I'm still having problems getting into my profile, but I think that's just MY independent ISP being retarded as usual...
