I'm looking for advice for my trip. My dad won't ride coasters, because of his back, so it's my brother and I (he can ride everything) that have the reigns.

My questions are:

How are lines this time of year, what rides are open during hotel ERT (We're staying at the Breakers) and what gets filled fastest, just general hints.

Eating tips are also nice, as my last trip to CP was in 2001. I vaguely remember an eat-in (Silver dollar or something) restaurant by Raptor, and a market-style eatery there too.

Thanks in advance!

Ethan and I went on those same dates last year, so perhaps I can help you out a little..

We were able to hit everything we wanted in the first day without running around like crazy. We also had the early entry thanks to castaway bay. As far as what rides are open, it should say on the park website.

As far as places to eat, the Gameday Grill over by Raptor, and the Johnny Rockets over by MaXair are great. We also ate at the Panda Express.. I can't remember where else. But all those places were good, albeit over priced.

If I were you, I would hit Maverick first as it was holding a decent sized line all day long. Top Thrill Dragster can get a decent sized line but it moves like lightning. The same goes for Millennium Force. You shouldn't have a problem with any of the other rides.

Hope that helps.

I'm probably going to Cedar Point around the same time of the summer too.

Thanks Jake! I forgot about Johnny Rocket's in the park. How bad does Wicked Twister's line get? I really enjoyed it (odd preference, but hey) and its something my brother will like.

As far as the thrill rides, are MaXair and Thunderhawk worth any more than a 25 minute line? I rode and enjoyed La Revolución at Knott's, but refused to pay for the Screamin' Swing there.

Short lines for Millennium are a great thing- I remember a 3 hour queue last time I went.

Wicked Twister is generally a half hour max wait. I've been there three times since it was opened and never waited long for it, even in the middle of the summer. It is also one of the few rides that runs in the rain.

MaXair is worth the wait, and don't be discouraged by the long line. It is a people eater and you will be on in no time. I wouldn't wait for the Screamin' Swing ride, the cycle is really short and it takes forever to get people on and off of that ride.

Just be ready to wait in a lot of lines and enjoy it. Don't go in expecting to hit everything day one, because it is just not possible.

As Nate said, half hour maximum. It was one of the shortest lines in the park when I went.

MaXair is definitely worth it, one of the best flat rides out there. I wouldn't wait for Thunderhawk, personally I enjoyed the Screamin' Swing more.

Thanks for all the advice! I'll be sure to ride MaXair then. Is it worth taking time out of our day for Soak City, since we'll be getting the Water/Amusement park ticket combo (part of the Hotel stay, If I recall what my dad said correctly), or should we just ride the rides in the park instead?

Well, we didn't go to Soak City. But then we had an awesome water park inside our hotel.. That's pretty much up to your own discretion, but I'd expect you'll have way more fun in the park as opposed to Soak City.

Soak City blows

Don't try it, it's not worth wasting a day in the park.

Since when has there been a Thunderhawk at Cedar Point? :wink2:

I enjoyed Soak City, but I went for only about 2 hours late in the season. Their speed slides are really fun, so maybe you should check it out, and stay only as long as you feel like, and then go back to the amusment park later on in the day.

PS, Chick-Fil-A is amazing. Go eat there.

I knew Chick-Fil-A was awesome, duh. :p

I'll be sure to hit MaXair- it looks like an incredible thrill ride. If I have time and the weather permits, and I feel content with what coasters I've ridden I'll hit Soak City.

Do they let you pick your seats on Millennium now? Last time I went they assigned the seats.

^ Assigned seats on Millennium?

Be sure to hit Maxair, it's easily the best flat ride I've ever been on.
Also try to get on Skyhawk, especially at night :w00t:
Drink water, Cedar Point is a giant stove made of concrete.
Eat at the buffets, save some money
Don't get on ride pics, unless you want to spend $15 on a low quality photo
Ride Wicked Twister. Many people just skip it to get in other rides. Don't, it's a good ride.

Yes... Almost every day of the season when they have enough crew on the Millennium Team for they day they almost always assign seats. This is so they fill up as many trains as possible to reach its maximum capacity. Plus it keeps the amount of people in the station in check.

Wanna save even more money? Pack a cooler with some lunch meat, bread, and some drinks. I do it almost every time I spend a day at the point (or any park for that matter), and I live only 45 mins away.
