Join us on a walk through Cedar Point on it's opening day weekend. Seeing all the attractions makes me want to go back and be there right now!

Planet Snoopy turned out fantastic. It's very appealing, very colorful, and a hard area to miss when walking by. This is a great contrast to the other Snoopy location in the park, Camp Snoopy. Camp Snoopy is tucked behind Jr. Gemini and the Gemini Midway game, and just blends in with the rest of the Gemini Midway kiddie rides. Walking by all you really see is the Snoopy Moonbounce and Woodstock's Express, when all the real action is behind everything (including the Lolli Swings, Tilt-a-Whirl, and Camp Bus, and more). With Planet Snoopy, all the excitement is in clear view from the midway, making it slightly more appealing and attractive.
In other news, the All Wheels Extreme stunt show in the transformed Aquatic Stadium is taking shape. From the Wicked Twister queue dozens upon dozens of ramps, boxes, and quarterpipes can be see taking shape. The show is set to open on May 24th.
Great update, Joel, keep up the good work. Planet Snoopy looks a lot nicer then I thought it would, nice job by Cedar Point to raise the bar. Hopefully they'll get all the kinks worked out soon, but that's what happens when you have a park full of Intamins ;).
Blech, so much orange tape marking off seats on both Magnum and Blue Streak in addition to all the down time. Raptor even had its fair share of downtime too.
But it was a beautiful day. For an opening day, Dragster and Millennium kicked *** in terms of capacity. I did get to ride Maverick too, but only with a 15 minute wait. Gotta love Point Perks :)

Yeah.. so.. that guest who waited 4.5 hours.. that was me.. :(
But I had a good day, aside from that. Rode everything I wanted aside from Raptor, Maverick, and Demon Drop.
Millennium Force and TTD still great rides. :)

Haha, speaking of orange tape and Blue Streak, I would like to note the apparent failure of the park management to properly train employees. We found a certain female ride host(ess) on Blue Streak who didn't even know the meaning of orange tape on seats, and almost let riders ride in those seats. In other areas of the park, cashiers had no idea how to run their registers, and didn't even know what kind of food they had! After talking to one of them, I was told that they weren't even trained until that morning. I and another friend of mine were also given two baskets of cheese sticks and fries, and two drinks, for the price of just one serving of cheese sticks, and for no good reason. She knew she was giving us all that food for that price; she told us she was. As cool as it was, it shows the failure of the integrity of the park management. I was also given a 10% discount at Speed Freaks when I shouldn't have. This is my first time being to a park at it's opening day of the season. Are all parks like this?
On the other hand, I would like to praise the Millennium Force crew on a job well done. Although we waited 1.5 hours, the line was constantly moving, with relatively no down-time. Once we got into the station we found the ride hosts to be really hustling, checking seats as quickly as possible, and doing their best to get every train full. If everything goes well from a mechanical standpoint, this will be a good year for the Force.

Haha, that was fun. Free food for only joel and his friend(;
We also noticed on saturday that after they check your seat
for the lap bar and seat belt they now say "check" outloud and we were
trying to figure out a reason why they would start to say it.
Any ideas?
I have been many parks that do the outloud "check" system. When I was younger, I always used to yell MATE! right after they said it which got a laugh from ride ops. I think it is just to let other ops know and helps people feel safer? I never worked attractions, only games, so I can't give you a definite answer but thats what I believe it is.
Sometimes it helps to say things like that out loud so that you remember which seats you have checked and the like. As a bonus I'm sure it makes some guests feel more comfortable in their seats.

I remember when I saw an on-ride video of Maverick and I thought it was funny how some on the ride were shocked in the tunnel. I couldn't imagine seeing that much down time though. The part with the country flags is what caught my eye.

I don't understand what you're trying to say here. Could you rephrase please?

Dissapointing to here about Maverick and the other two flats being down, but I was very impressed by Planet Snoopy  Congrats Cedar Point!
Thanks for the update guys!

I was referring to the part where people thought the ride was over, yet it was still going. Then I meant that it is sad or disappointing to hear about the various rides (including Maverick) that had so much down time.
