And the most important of al!!! YOU MUST HAVE FUN!

You're asking people to build a theme park in a week?
Extra marks for a resort? How long do you think this takes?

Dude there is no way a person is going to find all his time to make a good theme park in 2 weeks. If you want something like this to happen you got to make the due date longer, but who will listen to me? Anyways good luck at trying to somehow get something like this going.
Alright guys, lay off. It is possible that not everyone is as meticulous as you. Therefore it wouldn't take them that long to finish a park.

The idea sounds alright, but I think if you gave people a heads up before you actually started a competition, things might work out better. You know, to see who's interested and agree upon a deadline.

It's taken me almost a year to work on Nari. Just throwing that out there.
But this is highly unorganized, when we finish, who do we send it into? Is there any specific scenery packs that we can/cannot use? Do we need to include the scenery within a zip when we send it?

You can use any custom scenery:
But you dont have to use it (as some people dont know where to put it aka me!)
if you do yes please say what custom scenery was used

anyone can enter!
Okay, slow down here. Last time I checked you were the one asking for help on how to improve you're park scenery, and now you're ready to start you're own competition? Im not saying that what you're doing is against any site rules, but having seeing no work, no samples of what you can do, you aren't likely to get any participation. It's like me, a random kid, walking into a a pizzeria and challenging all of the cooks inside as to who can make the best pizza. Why should they do it? After all, I'm just some random kid who walked into their shop with a challenge and a bunch of sloppy rules. You said that you weren't going to judge the contest, so what exactly ARE you going to do? Anyone can post up a lousy set of rules and a deadline and hope for entires, but something unique is what will make you're contest flourish -- Right now, you don't have that something, just a few ever-changing rules which you adjust after every negative comment comes you're way.
I suggest stepping back, developing a clear, unique and fun game with a realistic deadline and experienced panel of judges, and maybe then you'll have a winner on your hands.

I miss Summer Showdown
But yeah dude, you've got to have some coherent rules and more of a plan before you can start a contest.
^Any chance of bringing that back perhaps on a smaller scale? It just took a bit to much time for me to participate last summer, but it was a ton of fun the year before. I'd be willing to help out if you wanted to run another summer contest.
Site sponsored games in general should return. The quantity of games seems to have increased, and the participation decreased. Not to say that some user-made games are not well thought out, its just that certain threads (Such as this one) make me wonder...

It's hard to post anything but criticism on such a un-detailed thread; he gave us virtually nothing. I'll consider competing when we get something concrete.
