I've been playing RCT2 for like a year and a half, and got the idea to ask for some help from the fellow players out there from reading another thread.
I've been extreamly frusturated with why I can not figure out how to build very good station buildings surrounding the station and some of the que. My coaster designs and ideas are great it's just the buildings any advice would be wonderful!! :wink2:

Look to others for an example. That's how I learned.

^Yeah, that's how I learned, too. Just look at real life examples and spotlight parks and stuff. Or, just make it fancy and open-aired-esque.

Ya I have looke at some of the parks around RC pro and its just putting the walls up around the station and the roofs making it look real and not all weird like... A more specific ? should I build the que and station before the building or the building first
Thanks Guys

I would build at least the station first. It's fairly easy to predict where the queue will go, but it's nice to have the station as a reference for where the building should go.

Definitely plan out the station and queue first. Make it organized, and then build from the ground up. For example, build the walls going up to the station (but not above the floor level), build the floors and airgates and other details if necessary. Then build the walls/balconies/fences going above floor level, along with those details. Last thing to do should be the roof. From there, just touch-ups. Trees, flowers, etc.

As for the queue, I don't include it in the station. Rarely any coasters in real life do that, so I don't usually in RCT2 either. And, don't just have endless switchbacks in a row, even if some coasters do that (ie. Fahrenheit). I make the queue interesting, because it really makes the coaster interesting all together, especially when it interacts with the queue. Maybe some open areas, some covered areas, some areas of switchbacks, whatever looks good.

Great Advice Thanx So Kinda Do it in levels. That gives me a better Idea. By the way when I say the que being inside the building I mean only parts of it, like Batman in SFMM part of the que goes through a dark tunnel. Just Don't want to sound uneducated, thanks though I appreciate it. Any more Help From Anyone ???

This is from one of my older projects. Just be sure to include a nice, styled roof along with some color and appeal from the que and/or midway. If you're going to do one thing, make sure the ride exit and entrance are on opposite sides of the track. NEVER in real life do you see the ride exit on the same side as the entrance, thats probably the biggest detail you want to capture.

You can also help yourself out by designing you're ride with space for a station. I usually try and keep my stations within 20 feet of ground level and try and build my ride with space to fit the structure around the track. Hope this helps.

Yo, Thanks I have been wondering about quite a few things in RCT2 and thats one of them I will practice :stick_tongue:! The exit being on the same side as the entrance does never happen, good point, one other quick ? for anyone out there what is the easiest way to upload screenshots of my coasters and stations to the forums like Jman did ???

If you want a more simplistic, yet good looking and real station, this one from one of my projects is a good example.

But try not to use those wooden fence posts to hold up the entire roof.

Wow Jay, that's really good! Which park was this for?

The way I upload screenshots is by going to www.imageshack.us and clicking browse. Then I find the files by clicking My Computer - Local Disk - Program Files - Infogames Interactive and they're in there. Click on the file you want, and check the two boxes below that, clicking the option for resizing it as "800x600 (15-inch monitor)". Click "host it!" and wait for it to upload. Then copy the last code given, the direct code for the picture. Finally, in your post, click the little picture option (it's the mountain with the yellow sky) and paste the code in there. That'll do it! Trust me, it's a lot simpler than it seems in writing.
