Okay, so basically I just wanted to set up a small poll to get a general idea of what you guys would be interested in for our fall/winter contests. What I'll list below are most of the ideas we've come up with, and I'd really appreciate it if everyone interested in this voted for the idea they like best or even shared their own contest ideas. Thanks!
1) Parkmaker's Challenge 07: No teams, no gimmicks--this is just a cut and dry, every man for himself RCT2 contest where ANYONE can enter a 70x70 park to be scored by a staff judging pannel. You build the best park, you win. It's easy;)
2) NLE-No Limits Elite: It would be pretty damn stupid to put limits on a No Limits competition, so yeah, there are none here. Build the best NL coaster you possibly can with any resources you wish to use.
3) RCT Holidays: This one's open to RCT, RCT2, and RCT3. Build the best holiday-themed mini park within a two week long period.
4) Spotlights/Pro Designs: There's a lot of great parkmakers here on RCPro, and it would be great to start recognizing that again. This would not be a specific contest, but more likely a continuous deal, where entries would be accepted on a rolling basis.
Remember, it's not like we can only do one of these. All four or possibly more would be great if that's what you guys want, so just let us know (oh, and you can vote for more than one).

I was thinking about this the other day...
Spotlights and Pro Designs should be, IMO, on an enter-any-time basis. That way, if two entries are both worthy of the title, but one is 'better', they could both get the recognition they deserve.
This doesn't mean, however, that any finished park deserves to be called a Spotlight/Design. There should be a claear-cut size and relative quality standard...
RCT Holidays doesn't seem like something I personally would be interested in participating in, but fun to watch, all the same. I'd think it would be hard to compare an RCT3 park to any of the other RCTs, though.
Parkmaker's Challenge got my vote in the poll. I was sad to see it fall through last year, and I already have something in mind... =D Would there be two divisions again?

I would love to get in on some No Limits action..We've already had a few RCT competitions, I think it's time for some NL players to compete. :)

I think RCT Holidays would be a fun thing to try and bring a little bit of the holidays to RCPro, but I agree with disneylhand about RCT3 having a major advantage. I think having two different contest within RCT Holidays could work. You could have one for RCT2/RCT and one for RCT3.
I also think that Spotlight Parks and Pro Designs would be a good thing to bring back, it could help draw people into the forum from the homepage and it could be incorporated into that rumored RCPro Newsletter if that ever happens ;).
I would also like to see a NoLimits contest again, even though I can't run my NoLimits currently, I love to see what other people come up with.
I think that all of those are great ideas and letting all of the designers compete in some sort of competition would be nice. I specifically like the first one, I'm not through with RCT2 yet......he he he. :)

^^I really don't think that RCT3 parks would have an advantage. I just feel that they are way to different to be judged together in a fair manner.
About NLE, I personally don't think that the rest of these propositions should be put in a poll with it, as the vote would come down to a NL vs. RCT as apposed to a vote that captures a true general consensus of the group.

Of the choices, I would want a Parkmaker's Challenge.
But if we could suggest something, I think it would be cool to make it a Duo challenge, where a team of 2 people make a single park. This would make it easier to finish the park, because I personally wouldn't be able to make an entire 70*70 park in a restricted time.

We've had single person RCT2 competitions before (Jay and Jon's), and they didn't work out too well...
I think a NL would be very good. :) We use to have Outer Limits; what happened to that?
For the holiday ones, two weeks? That really isn't much time at all. Besides, with all the holiday-ness going on, who wants to get stressed and/or avoid seeing relatives and family to work on RCT2?
I thought these were "you send them in whenever you're done" sorta things, too. At least, for the Spotlights. As for ProDesigns, were there that many entries?
I think the best thing to do for the time being would be another NL contest. :)
Did Pass the Park just stop because of lack of interest or what?

I voted for spotlights/prodesigns more so that we shouldn't have a contest necessarily for them but I wouldn't mind having one but rather have the old style where you sent in/uploaded to games exchange(which we don't have anymore) your park/design and you guys choose which ones you thought were worthy of winning that spot. As disneylhand said if you couldn't understand what I meant.
I'd also like to see parkmakers challenge the same way it was done awhile ago when we tried it before. Plus I think a lot of people might actually join in but we definitely need to advertise the contests on here more to get more people.
For holiday contest I really don't know about this as I do agree with it would be pretty hectic to build a holiday park during the holidays with family and such happening. Also also as disneylhand said I would rather watch what people have instead of building a park.
Anyway thats my thoughts I think all the contests would be great for this site so good luck with them zburns.

Sorry for not getting back to you guys on this. I just want to let you know that I've read everyone's posts and taken all votes into account. From the looks of things, this is going to be one busy winter as far as gaming contests go.

If you need help with anything zburns I'm pretty sure some of us wouldn't mind helping out with that/those contest(s). But as long as we get something rolling RCT/NL wise since Summer Showdown was our last and only thing we've had on here for awhile.

I think there is a lot of potential for a NL design contest, based on the amount and talent of NL users around here, we could get something interesting going:cool:... just let me know if you guys need help with setting up or running anything :)

I voted for the RCT Holidays one. I think it would be interesting to see a park based on a holiday in the RCT series. The problem is the judging. I've played a little bit of RCT2 here and there after I got RCT3 and RCT3's graphics have to much of an advantage.
I would definetley consider joining some of these competitions if they become reality.
