Hahaha, that's the best thing to hear while waiting in line; "Hey mom, did you know that 'The Magnum' is sinking?! Yeah, it's because it's right next to the lake." "Wow Jimmy, you know a lot about roller coasters!"

Thanks for another great blog, Michael. It certainly was a good read, just like all of your other blog postings. I do have a question however.
I'm sorry, but can you perhaps explain to me how a Mack SuperSplash or a Mack Water Coaster is more expensive than a Intamin Aquatrax?Originally Posted by RCPro Blogged
I'm sorry, I actually can't, but that is what I understand from more than a few people. Maybe they're just referring to the Atlantis installations versus the Aquatrax that are out there, which would make sense because of all of the themeing on the Atlantis installations.
The only thing that doesn't make sense to me about this Aquatrax is that it only has a 800-1000 hourly capacity...maybe its just me but I don't think that Cedar Point would put in this ride just because of its capacity. Maybe I'm wrong but just my thoughts
Just because the one and only Aqua Trax that is built has a 1000 people per hour capacity doesn't mean that Cedar Point's will be the same. Maverick only has an approximate value of 1200 riders per hour, and that thing has 6 trains!
But seriously... Cedar Point is known for their High Capacity rides. All of their modern thrill rides and almost all of their roller coasters (minus the kiddie coasters) have a capacity of over 1000 riders per hour; with some like Gemini or Magnum reaching 3000 or 2000 per hour, respectively. A relatively high capacity water ride (at or over 2000 per hour) would be nice for Cedar Point.
