Winter Showdown '09 -- Official Rules

The Idea: Winter Showdown 2009 (WS09) is a team RCT2 competition in which teams (amount of park makers on any team roster is dependent on the number of total participants) compete over multiple rounds of play. Like in a real sport, teams will have weeks off and time to recover depending on their schedule. At the end of a set number of rounds, the two teams with the highest scores will advance to a final championship round.

The Teams: WS09 teams will be composed of one captain and a handful of team members. The total number of members on a team will be dependent on the total number of people who sign up for the SS2 competition.

The Parks: All WS09 parks must be made on a provided contest work-bench, with pre-determined dimensions. Truly, those are the only limitations. From there, be creative. Trainors and hacking are encouraged, and outlandish ideas are always accepted.

The Competition: At the end of each week of the WS09 season, a number of teams will be required to turn their weekly entry into the head-of-competition via email, where it will be sent to the judges forum to be judged. Scores and results usually will take one week to process.

Team Formation: Sign-Ups begin immediately by users posting in the appropriate forum (this thread) with their name and any screenshots of prior works. Sing-ups end on October 5th, and team formations my then begin. Users may decide amongst themselves the composition of the teams. The only rules that we have is that all users must have a forum account, have signed up, and that all users that signed up are on a team. If members do not have a team, RCPro Staff will place that user on a team and balance teams with more than 3 members (ie two users with no team and a team of 4 will have a member removed to form a new team of 3). We also HIGHLY recommend that you vary your experience levels on the teams to make this a little more fun for all. Remember, this competition is all in good fun, so you you don't want to put the Yankees vs your local high school team. Teams must be formed by the 12th.

The Final Showdown: The Final Showdown is the championship of the WS09 tournament. Here, the two top teams will compete head to head for victory.

Duels: This time, it's personal. Teams will have the chance at ultimate revenge. Every team will be given one "duel" to use at any time in the competition. A duel will allow one parkmaker from a team that lost a round to the winning team by 10 or less points to call out one parkmaker from the winning team in a true head to head duel. Winner takes all.

+10: As usual, ten additional points will be awarded to a week's winning team.

Dates: First entry is due November 1st and then on a weekly basis until all rounds are complete. The official bench will be released on October 12th.

For more work, check out the 2006 summer showdown Creative Concepts parks. I was captain on this team and we did very well. Looking forward to some great competition!

Oh, check the H2H stuff on NE for some more parks, mainly Worlds of Tim Burton and World Showcase.

I'll have to think about it, I don't know if I'll have enough free time in October for this.

...And I doubt anyone wants the curse that I seem to bring to teams. Lol.

    Good luck folks.
If you're ranking me by my post count, you obviously don't know me.
